Rolling Thunder period probably my favourite. But I bought the full 66 tour set and still havent listened to them all let alone multiple listens.
Mistake.
I “found” the full 66 tour set and simply can’t understand how anyone would want to listen to every single concert. Is this just another “Put everything, I mean everything, including that tv show that was never broadcast and the time Bob & Joan sang a duet in the toilet stall, out before the copyright expires”?
I think the Never Ending tour might be more interesting, he varied the setlists so much, probably 100s of unique songs played rather than the 35 ones in this 1976 set. But it would probably be coming out year by year starting in around 2037, as these sets are basically just 50 year copyright dumps
It’s his performance @dai, I’ve seen quite a few shows on the N.E.T. but none since the noughties, I stopped going when we had to start playing ‘guess the song’
I’m happy to notice that the drums, bass and harmony vocals are mixed at a decent level.
The previous RTR box set from 2019 had the rhythm section too quiet in the mix, sounding anemic.
As with all Dylan releases, musicians receive no financial compensation for these recordings. It was all work for hire.
This 952 disc box set will be on sale in time for the holidays, and in time for the 50 year copyright on the material to expire.
A few reasons. Think he played it early on in 76.
There was shot about to go down😏
Legal issues , ongoing questioning of inaccuracies. Maybe he just got tired of it. Maybe doubt in his own mind.
I was surprised because the story is such a significant part of Scorsese’s Rolling Thunder documentary. Yes, yes, I know…
Doing a bit of digging, I see that he had been released on bail in early 1976 – then promptly charged with beating a woman up. So I can imagine that put a dampener on celebrity support.

Think a decent remaster of Hard Rain would do me
There’s also a standalone 3LP release of the Fort Worth show from May of that year
The tour I’d love to have seen but I don’t need 39 cds of it.

I think so
’66 Tour brick purchased listened to them all some many times more than once.
’74 & ’75 as above.
’76 ordered.
Would I buy a 39 disc set of the Never Ending Tour? No. Maybe a 2/3 disc best of.

Fair enough.
@Pyramid. Any stand outs from 66? They do sound much the same to me, as you’d expect.
Often it is the sound quality that matters most. .
That would require someone to sit through it all and make choices!
It is totally bonkers – who will ever listen to it all? But….at around £120….hmmm….bargain…mmmm…maybe….you never know, I could perhaps justify it….?
I did buy the 1975 box set when it came out, which is a mere 14 CDs. I am pretty sure I played it all once…..
This is completely ridiculous. And, naturally, I will buy it.

I’m sure someone here will know the answer to this: why was there (as far as I can see) no rendition of Hurricane on the 1976 leg?
