I don’t really care for Bob (i.e. I don’t care to listen to him singing anything) but I quite admire some of his songs and I’ve been captivated since I was about 10 by this cover of ‘Gates Of Eden’ by Arlo Guthrie, from his brilliant-from-start-to-finish ‘Last Of The Brooklyn Cowboys’ album. An uncle offloaded an 8-track machine and some cartridges on me, and many of them were magical to me, and still are.
This song is a work of genius, and the recording/arrangement double the effect, to my ears…
