Bit of a swizz giving a whole disc of stuff from Tell Tale Signs, and do these discs look a little short…? We don’t need a remix, or the Tell Tale Signs stuff, so this could easily have been a 3 disc set it seems to me.
2CD or 4LP set…
This edition includes a new 2022 remix, by Michael Brauer, of the eleven original recordings on Time Out Of Mind, sounding more like how the songs came across when the musicians originally played them in the room.
Also included are 12 previously unreleased outtakes and alternate versions of songs written for Time Out Of Mind, including such iconic tracks as “Love Sick”, “Not Dark Yet” and “Make You Feel My Love”.

Jaygee says
Bit of a swizz indeed.
Sounds lik BD has been chatting to NY.
Can’t think onother BS where there’s a remix
Of the main album or whose deluxe version includes
a disc from another BS release.
Just bought the 2 LP 25th anniversary remix a few months back
So even less inclined to fork out again
dai says
Remaster I think, not a remix. I have an original 2LP vinyl which used to be worth about 150 quid, less now probably
Baron Harkonnen says
Correct the last reissue of TOOM was a remaster.
Jaygee says
Damn, all remixed up
NigelT says
I left out the price…any guesses for the 5CD set?
dai says
100 quid.
I was at the recording of one of the live tracks (Love Sick – Brum ’98) so I have to get the whole thing 😉
See this thread too:
NigelT says
£100 ….wrong..!
dai says
$155.25 CAD = 98.58 pounds
Baron Harkonnen says
$95 at Importcds, why do people get so hysterical about these things instead of actually looking for the best price. This set will be available for -£65 in 3-6 months.
NigelT says
£125 at the moment…this is the Badlands price which is usually the same as the dodgers.
Boneshaker says
I will buy the 2CD version just because it’s Bob, and I’ve got all the other Bootleg series CDs, but this does seem like a bit of a swizz, what with disc one just being a remix and all. The last couple of Bootlegs have hinted at a smidgeon of barrel scraping methinks.
NigelT says
Personally I think the 2CD set should have been the 2 discs of outtakes. I’’m really not bothered about the remix, and can live without the live stuff.
Vulpes Vulpes says
Me too.
This is the exact point where I drop off the Bootleg Series bandwagon after 16 largely satisfactory volumes, three of which were the full “HOW MUCH??” versions, to a prolonged sigh of relief from my wallet. I jumped on board at Volume 1 in the big fat vinyl 5 LPs box, and loved it. I bought it again on CD, and then stayed the course on CDs until now.
But sorry Bob, old son, but enough’s enough, your record company is now officially Taking The Piss.
NigelT says
I bought the big Cutting Edge set, but have resisted the other big versions because I know they will rarely get listened to, and they are on streaming anyway. I did get the 1966 and Rolling Thunder live boxes, which were terrific value, but I just think this is a misstep. I am becoming more resistant to these big expensive sets…space, cost, time left to listen, divorce…this isn’t hysteria (I am lucky enough to be able to afford them), but there comes a point where you have enough.
Moose the Mooche says
“…time to listen, divorce”… so it comes down to a decision about whether to listen to your wife or listen to Bob Dylan.
Let me put it like this – will Dylan tell you off all the time and call you useless?
Well he probably will, so I don’t know what point I was making….
Jaygee says
Nigel T is married to Bob Dylan?
Moose the Mooche says
In a very real sense, we all are.
NigelT says
Well, I was was listening to a bit of Bob today after posting this, and Mrs. T was moved to say ‘Dylan does write some strange lyrics sometimes’….this is after 48 years of marriage. I do wonder sometimes…
fitterstoke says
Speak for yourself, cheekie…
Baron Harkonnen says
I’ve been expecting this release along with many other Dylan fans for a while now.
I’ve ordered the 10 LP set paid for from the sale of two LPs I no longer wanted that cost me {the 2 LPs that is) £32.
Guiri says
Would love a 2LP version of outtakes and alternate versions as I’ve long wanted Red River Shore on vinyl. But I don’t need a remix album. So Spotify it will be.
Moose the Mooche says
I wish they’d write the bloody dates properly. I remember 2000 and it didn’t have 20 months (although it felt like it if you were following the US Elections)
SteveT says
I will get this when it gets to £65 ish – bit aggrieved about Tell Tale cd.
Jaygee says
£65 for what is essentially three CDs is still pretty steep
eddie g says
This will be the first one I pass on. I’m sure Bob will be gutted.
Junior Wells says
It will come as no surprise to report that I will be buying the full set. Probably CD. format as I have the others in that format
Lodestone of Wrongness says
It will come as no surprise to report that I shall be visiting The Eel Market.
Junior Wells says
Well those new knees dont come cheap.
BTW do you get it on French National Health and has Brexit changed things,
Lodestone of Wrongness says
Us permanent residents have full cover from the French Health Service. Of course, basic cover is topped up by Mutuel Insurance. One thing Brexit didn’t bugger up is that somewhere along the line the French hospital passes the costs back to the NHS . The NHS don’t mind because, for instance, getting a new knee in France is cheaper than getting it done in the UK.
Wandering off topic completely – I’ve been a NHS supporter all my life, it’s ingrained. However the French system seems to work. The more you can afford to pay for Insurance the better your room is, you can get a taxi to and fro hospital etc. What money doesn’t get you is queue jumping (unless you are stupidly rich and can afford Private Private).
And if you have one of the designated serious diseases (cancer, acute rheumatoid arthritis et al) that is all completely free.
No idea how France affords it all – like pensions and ridiculously cheap train fares there is probably a day of reckoning ahead. But right now it all works.
dai says
Sounds great. It is currently a disaster in Canada (basically same as NHS. but varies from province to province), almost impossible to get a GP or “family doctor”, waiting times up to 20 hrs in emergency room and off the shelf children’s medications are in short supply, they can be imported from US or other countries, but all labelling countrywide needs to be in French as well as English which is slowing things up.
Mike_H says
What’s he going to call the next one?
Scrapings?
