Not sure if that is significant or means anything. I can’t even tell Bob Dylan from Dylan Thomas.

Sorry to be a pain, but I voted for Stuck Inside…. too. Did my vote get counted? Cos my name’s not under it.
Ah, I see six votes but only two names, must be a typo. Means my vote was counted.
Indeed, @minibreakfast – that may only be the first error spotted…
For those who need to know, the complete names for “Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again” were:
Allium Sativum, Gatz, henpetsgi, Locust, minibreakfast, NE1
You’re doing a fine job, Sal.
*thwack*!
Ooh-hoo-hoooh!
Ta very much.
You sure that’s Dylan Thomas, not a youthful Vic Reeves?
Which one?
*thwack!*
Thanks to Sal for finishing this off. The sharp eyed will spot that I have been so preoccupied with other stuff that I didn’t even post myself. I can’t argue withthe final list though I’d have had an early protest one in there high up – Blowing in the Wind or Times they are a changin’.
So! If I understand this rightly – and the chances of my misinterpreting the data are so small as to be very small indeed – retropath2, anth25, Barry Blue, bengwy, billy shears, chilli ray virus, Cookieboy, H.P. Saucecraft, Jackthebiscuit, Kid Dynamite, Kiwiian, man.of.soup, mikethep, Paul Wad, Rigid Digit, RubyBlue, Steve Walsh, ianess all got it right, and the others lost.
Glad to see Moose’s idiosyncratic selections scoring so well.
Its not a competition.
As I always say when I lose
Great work Salwarpe and thanks to Twang for igniting the idea.
H.P. S. you may think you and the others are right but myself and the other others say you are wrong.
Glad to see Love Minus Zero/No Limit so high up.
Here`s the top ten from a poll by a great Dylan site, `All Dylan` (type that in and you`ll find it Dylan Fans)
1) Joint – Like A Rolling Stone/Visions of Johanna
3) Tangled Up In Blue
4) Ballad Of A Thin Man
5) Stuck Inside Of Mobile…
6) Blind Willie McTell (electric version, it is a Dylan site!)
7) It`s Alright, Ma(I`m Only Bleeding)
8) It`s All Over Now Baby Blue
9) Desolation Row
10) Idiot Wind (New York version)
So 6 of our Top 10 are in the `All Dylan` list for what it`s worth.
I had always assumed that my high regard* for Stuck Inside of Mobile was an personal quirk. Seems it a much more common choice than I had thought.
* Not that I ever thought other fans didn’t like it, just that I never would have thought they would placed it so high in a list of favourites given the strength of the field.
All magnificent songs except for if not for you which is twee.
The number of one votes and two votes illustrates the depth of the catalogue.
Thanks for doing this. Really interesting and actually useful for me, as very much a plastic/ignorant ‘fan’. Will bookmark and work through. 🙂
Two of mine I was the only person to vote for!!
I am setting some homework! You must all listen to Percys Song & Farewell Angelina 🙂
Amazing list salwarpe & I am enjoyiing the playlist too. As Junior Wells says this really shows the depth of catalogue
`Percy`s Song` is magnificent, just goes to show how great a songwriter Zimmie is.
Its been an interesting thread which has caused me to re-examine some stuff I had previously dismissed. I had pretty much stopped listening to Dylan in the eighties and it was nice to find some gems from the Christian and later period. I was also surprised to find Street Legal was very much better than I remembered.
It was fun. So whose next?
Leo Sayer?
Maybe I’ve sent too much time watching cricket from India but I smell a fix
I voted for Mr Tambourine Man and it’s nowhere to be found
Imagine my surprise when I saw that I voted for Most of the Time which is surprising as offhand I can’t tell you how it goes. Something is fishy
You are absolutely right, @cookieboy – mea culpa. It was late at night and I combined the two songs by miastake. Here are the corrected scores:
Most of the Time – 5 /2
(Charlie Gordon, Rigid Digit)
Mr. Tambourine Man – 18/6
(bang em in bingham, Cookieboy, henpetsgi, Mousey, rocker49, RubyBlue)
I may add a corrected version as a comment, as I also notice that the songs are ranked by number of voters , not score….
Cricket – someone mention cricket !?
