I thought some Afterworders might enjoy this.
Pentangle legends Bert Jansch & Jacqui McShee popped into RTE’s radio building in Dublin ahead of a show in Whelan’s bar that evening, recording two songs (‘Chasing Love’ and ‘Sovay’) and a bit of chat with bow-tied personality Marcus Connaughton. The session was broadcast that evening. This regional/local radio sort of thing was something Bert had done dozens if not hundreds of times before – and troubadours still do it to this day. Usually, the drift off into the ether, having served their purpose of promoting that night’s show.
I was at both the radio thing and the show and took the 25 pictures in the montage – some pretty good, some fuzzy, but at this point all atmospheric. I’ve more or less synced the images up to the audio, as far as one can. I can’t recall how I got a cassette recording of the show, as it was broadcast when I was at the concert. Possibly a friend taped it from Belfast (my home town), 100 miles up the road, which might explain why it was so lo-fi with a lot of interference. I’ve done my best to clean it up with Roxio software. Bert & Jacqui would go on to record their duo version of ‘Chasing Love’ for Jan Leman’s ‘Acoustic Routes’ BBC TV documentary soon after this (if indeed they hadn’t just done so). Enjoy.

Exquisite little treat there, Colin, thank you!
