Nah, no night at the opera tonight.
It`s the fans I can`t abide.
And I reckon the Lillywhites can pull off a shock on the morrow.

Wonders, magic, miracles. Yes.

Just witnessed one.

L E M O N H O P E? Rings a bell. Aha, you’re the arrogant idiot who posted straight after I, after a lot of work, put ‘The Best Album Of 2017’ up on the AW. Ridiculing my work.
Do one and kiss your god’s arse.
08/05/2019 at 14:32
For the record, my first comment on that thread was to thank you for all your hard work and at no point did I ridicule your work [or criticise it in any way]
Peace and love
08/05/2019 at 15:44
I must be dyslexic. You were the first to comment, there was no thanks from you instead you had to go into your better way of running a poll. Then you go onto put your results up had your method been used.
09/05/2019 at 10:54
Nice again. Another insult.
Check your facts – I was the first to comment, “Good work Baron – thanks for all the effort”
Ok, so I posted an alternative list. You didn’t complain.
If you had a problem why didn’t you say something at the time instead of embarrassing yourself 16 months later.
Had I realised you were upset I would have apologised.
Seriously, who holds a grudge for so long over such a small thing?
And even if you are ‘offended’ the insults are unnecessary
09/05/2019 at 19:54
At the time of you posting unlike you I did not wish to detract from the poll I had hosted, that is why I didn’t say anything. To have done so would have caused further distraction. Why you could not have waited to piss on my parade a little longer only you can answer, I also would not have paid any attention whatsoever treating your post for what it was, a bit of trolling. However you just couldn’t wait, could you.
I then forgot all about you until you posted your comment above, ”twas then I thought L E M O N H O P E, that rings a 🔔, then, aha, it was that – – – – – – who couldn’t wait to show how clever he was. It was just a jogging of my memory. No grudge, I bear you no ill will but…………….
10/05/2019 at 13:18
And in the interests of world peace I forgive you for the subject of my ire.
I also should have contacted you privately at the time.
11/05/2019 at 08:55
Shouldn’t that be ‘on reflection’, and come in several bite size pieces.
(Troll, eh, to a Lemon, tho, you massive racist…And don’t say you didn’t realise.)

At work, in a conf call, following BBC live updates, trying not to scream out inappropriately. INCREDIBLE!

Absolutely amazing. No question, there is something very special about Anfield. Whether Spurs can match that I doubt, but here’s hoping..
07/05/2019 at 21:14
Good luck. If not, an Ajax v Liverpool final has a retro 70s look about it …
08/05/2019 at 08:13
Re: “Ajax v Liverpool final has a retro 70s look about it”
Indeed it does, dai. Brings back memories.
Rinus Michels’ teams certainly were a joy to watch. Johan Neeskens tireless in midfield. Ruud Krol dominating the back-line. Johnny Rep, Wim Suurbier, Arie Haan, Piet Keizer – there was flair and style right through those teams. And I seem to remember that some guy wearing the No. 14 shirt was pretty good as well….

He probably wore it (the number ’14’) in some time-travelling homage to Jordan Henderson.

08/05/2019 at 07:46
Was that the best match I have ever watched ? In terms of combined improbability; atmosphere; and sheer ‘What the fuck !” maybe it was. Without Salah or Firmino as well. If they pull off another shock this weekend I wouldn’t be surprised.
Come on Spurs – tonight is easy in comparison.
08/05/2019 at 11:23
Brighton need to pull off the shock this weekend. A lot less likely even than yesterday I think.

That last goal… I could watch that all day.
08/05/2019 at 09:36
Barca missed a trick, they could have claimed like Villa did; to have been duped by a player feinting to put the ball out.
08/05/2019 at 13:41
Barca’s heads had gone by that point. All they could think of was “not again”. If they could think anything at all in the cauldron of Anfield.
I watched out of duty – wife and daughter chatting on the sofa. Politely not commenting on my increasing agitation which lead to me standing for time added on and swiveling on the spot like a Boohbah!
Daughter will (of course) be playing in bleeding ice hockey finals in Widnes on the night of the final. She has already been informed I shall not be watching her if there is a clash. (she understands)

C’mon dude, Liverpool fall backwards into European Cup finals with the same inevitable frequency with which Evel Knievel used to bounce his bike off buses – how many ice hockey finals will your daughter be in..?
08/05/2019 at 22:27
Every bloody year for the past six years…. and then there is the tournaments….
08/05/2019 at 22:33
Ah, I’m just being miserable. Usually I’m right up for it. But she does play finals every year – this years tension is whether it will be for two teams or just one (plus a promotion play off).
I’m probably more up for it now that we are playing Spurs. I reckon we could come a cropper.
08/05/2019 at 19:55
They were all gathered in the box anticipating the corner kick to come in. The player taking the corner made an inspired snap decision to take it quickly and across the grass which totally befuddled the Barca defence. I would say that was crafty, rather than cynical – and certainly a lot less sneaky than pretending to be injured to get a penalty.
08/05/2019 at 21:38
Nothing underhand about the goal at all. As a kid you’re taught to play to the whistle. At corners, throw ins, etc there is no whistle. It was one of the craziest and cleverest goals I’ve ever seen, and I think I watched it about 40 times this morning. Using the pause button you can pause it at the precise moment he spots his mate has a clear shot on goal and turns to take the kick. You can then pause it at the precise moment the guy in the box realises the ball is heading his way. It’s already halfway to him and the keeper isn’t yet looking.
But a much overlooked aspect of it is that it isn’t an easy finish, even without the fact that the goal scorer didn’t even realise he was about to be taking a shot until 0.3 seconds before he did! The ball bounces just before it reaches him and he has to turn and shoot. A well taken goal, but a very well taken corner. I dare say that Barcelona won’t get caught out like that again in a hurry!
09/05/2019 at 01:45
I don’t think that was a move practiced at training. I don’t know that for sure of course…but I think it was totally improvised which made it all the more sweet.
08/05/2019 at 18:24
Even as a Utd fan I was cheering them on yesterday. It also showed why I would choose Ronaldo over Messi everytime. Messi is the better player but if Ronaldo has been in the Barca team he would have grabbed that game by the scruff of the neck and made something happen, Messi just disappeared.
Ronaldo’s ego would have got them over the line.

The Hot Spurs name is already on the Champions League Trophy 🏆
Consider how they have qualified from the group stages, versus Man City and now Ajax.
I’m not saying they are lucky, no way, the team has class and the fighting spirit is unquestionable.

I never would have predicted that both English teams would be in the final but I am very pleased that they are.
