Gary has asked me to remind everyone who hasn’t voted in the Album of 22 Poll that the closing date is midnight 31st December.
Without giving anything away, it can be revealed it’s currently a very tight race at the top of the leaderboard where three runners are neck and neck in pursuit of the coveted(??) trophy.
Suffice to say, one person’s 20 votes could make all the difference!
(It should also be noted that if another 8 people each gave Josh Rouse 20 points he would nearly, but not quite, be in the lead).
So, once you’ve recovered from your bacchanalian excesses don’t forget to Vote, Vote, Vote!!!!

Petra says hi …
Look at this painting. It raises more questions than it answers, I feel.
I used to like pimientos de Padron.
Is that David Bowie on the right?
I think they’re okra, aka ladies fingers. Which would almost make some kind of sense.

Love the painting and, as accordion men and ladies with pants full of okra are not such common subjects, it was fairly easy to find out more.
It is:
“Okra Smugglers” by contemporary Polish/American artist Henryk Fantazos, painted in 2007. I want to see more of his stuff!

Rather an entertaining website too!
KFD there’s a link to the artist’s website on my post above.
The thread reminded me Josh Rouse is still out there plugging away.
Some of those early 2000s CDs are just peerless. Nashville being where it all comes together for me, every tune vies for modern classic in my house, but I’ve neglected to keep up with his oeuvre.
Same for The Dvirgilio-Morse record that came out this year which someone nominated, I checked it out last week and it’s flipping great. Despite being a Spock’s Beard enthusiast these things have a tendency to pass me by completely.
I’ve just run your last paragraph through Google Translate: Catalan perhaps?
Is this relentless plugging by Lodey of his favourites allowed?
…and I`ve just remembered I haven`t dome today`s Wordle yet.
Pay attention fella. I have never knowingly listened to Josh Rouse (my bad). It’s just that in the first few hours of this poll, Josh was in the lead……
I play Straight To Hell (Josh Rouse version) as part of my setlist. Half way through I break into the last verse of U2’s Running To Stand Still, then I go back to Straight To Hell (Josh Rouse version) then I segue deftly into the last verse of Neil Young’s After The Goldrush. I’ve had many not-at-all-in-the-slightest-bit-negative comments, ranging from “couldn’t hear you properly” to “wasn’t really listening, to be honest”.
Now, now Lodey, tis the time of merriment 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
Gary. Setlist. Words never seen in close proximity before. Here’s a very brief YouTube link to that evening …
