Not my cup of tea but remarkable in a couple of respects.
Is that the first performance not in English?
The depiction of settings from places not in America.
Both aspects must have driven the MAGA nuts erm…. nuts.
Doubt most of the attendees would have seen a thing with all that staging.

Prompted by an interesting piece in the Atlantic today, I dipped a wary toe into world of Bad Bunny. It’s not my cup of tea either, but he’s a hell of a showman. Can’t remember when I saw so many booties being shaken, what’s more.
Trump responded with his trademark folksy charm: “Nobody can understand a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting.”
Laura Loomer’s not happy either.

BB’s doing something right, clearly.
What empty, joy-free lives these people must lead. Imagine seeing all that excitement, talent, and joie de vivre, and thinking, to quote a well-known ecumenical figure, “Down with this sort of thing!” If Trump and co. weren’t so awful, I’d pity them.
Sadly the man who wrote that line is now firmly amongst that joyless, hate-filled group.
The thought occurred that there was a time when Trump would have been fully on board with that dancing.
Did she notice that many of the players weren’t “White” either? Bad Bunny is clearly not the correct kind of White for Maga 🙄
“Nobody can understand a word this guy is saying”
Given that Spanish is the world’s second-most spoken native language and is spoken by 636 million people worldwide, most of them in the Americas, that’s stretching the definition of “nobody” rather thin.
I don’t expect the orange toddler to understand any of that.
Sadly, it indicates to me who he considers to be people. And who not. An attitude borne out by everything he says and does.
Él es un coño.
He didn’t like Bruce’s latest offering, and as that was sung in English, presumably he could understand every word. There’s no pleasing some people.
Bruce even called him ‘king Trump – surely he would like that ennoblement?
Of course the Kid Rock show was more Afterworld friendly.
Apparently it was called off since guitar bands are finished.
He’s a genuine cultural phenomenon in the Hispanic world and that was hugely enjoyable and most satisfying to watch. Be interesting to see if this breaks him even wider.
Late last year, the tickets for his shows in Madrid went on sale when my younger daughter had a class at uni. She, and all the rest of the class, were straight on line in the lecture hall. Within a few minutes the lecturer had apparently given the class up for a bad job and spent the rest of it wandering around asking them where they were in the queue and if they’d got lucky.
Happily she got lucky, as did 600,000 others within 24 hours. That’s a lot of tickets at 200+ Euros a pop.
I couldn’t name a single Bad Bunny track and I’ve never knowingly heard a note of his music but if Trump hates him (and everything he allegedly stands for) then I’m hopping (see what I did there?) onboard the Bunny Bus with alacrity and glee.
I watched the show and found it entertaining and well done even if the music was definitely not for me. Maybe it helps if you can speak the language, but I found Bunny’s (Bad’s?) vocal delivery all a bit samey – or maybe that’s the style now and I’m just an old square, daddio.
But him and his assorted colleagues definitely gave it their all, there was plenty of cheering from the crowd, and Trump and chums hated it. So a pretty good 13 minutes or so all told that opened my eyes to a culture I had no clue about. Bravo, BB!
Culture Wars: forcing evangelical Christians to enjoy Kid Rock and Afterworders to enjoy Bad Bunny 🙂
I didn’t see it, but if he was incorporating images of Puerto Rico in the show then that is an American territory
He is huge, a workmate of mine (female, 20 something) flew to Puerto Rico last year, purely to see him live
Obviously a bit of ‘footballication’ on my part, but if Trump, and whoever that person is at the top this thread is, don’t like it, I’m rather inclined ‘to’ like it.
But then I don’t care for black people’s faces being superimposed onto the bodies of monkeys.
I know, it’s just me and I hate myself for it.
Pretty sound life principle these days, I find – if scumbags are agin it, I’m for it.
The places mentioned are in America just not the (dis)United States. He seemed to be saying they are all citizens of the continent of America uniting the North and South.
Green Day did a short pre-match set which can be found on Youtube. American Idiot included. Did Trump watch that?
I loved it and was dancing through most of it. And nice to hear so much reggaeton, which I have a huge soft spot for. The display of Latin culture was also brilliant and got the point across very well, even to anyone not fluent in Spanish.
“Well. That made me feel more proudly American than anything Kid Rock has ever done,”
Excellent comment by country singer Kacey Musgraves.

“Kid Rock makes music for people that wash their asses in gas station sinks”.
Genuine insight there.
There appears to be a good resource on YouTube for anyone wishing to use his songs to further their Spanish language skills
