Genuine question. It’s only a matter of time, even given the fact that the 50s-60s generation don’t seem to be doing terribly well in terms of longevity.
Well, am I expecting too much? After all, I’m from Hull, one of the many places where the banner “Happy 30th Birthday, Nana!” has allegedly been sighted.

I’m in the market for top-notch recordings of the two Tchaikovsky Piano Concertos.
I have a CD of them recorded by Richter with the Leiningrad PO for Melodiya in 1958. It’s a great performance but sonically absolute crap. My first instinct is to go for the later Richter/BPO recordings, but maybe there’s something better out there.
So come on, Music Lovers… whaddabout it?
