An increasing number of CD covers are cardboard replicas of the original sleeves – or nice packages in their own right – so I want to put them in nice protective plastic sleeves – but the only ones I can find are only big enough for the disc itself. Anyone know of ones that are big enough for the CD cover as well?

Christmas gift help wanted – can anyone recommend a good (relatively cheapish) gamepad or controller or whatever they call ’em now with a USB connection that will work with a laptop – could it also work with Mac as well as non-Apple stuff?

With some travelling ahead of us, and electricity unlikely to be available on trains round China, I’m thinking of investing in a solar charger to keep iPods charged up. Anyone know of good ones – do they actually work? Would one charge up 3 iPods just based on normal daylight on a gloomy train?

Anyone else suffered through the latest Apple IOS9 update? So far it’s messed up the podcasts on my iPod and completely crashed my wife’s iPad and I have to wait til next Thursday for a “genius” bar meet. Anyone had similar problems and fixed them themselves?

Help – I’m supposed to go to China later this year (if they’ll grant my visa) – I have been before, sometime ago, in the days before IPods. Now, if I can’t charge me IPod I can’t take any pics… so does anyone know what plaugs they have in China. I’ve looked online but just ened up confused – there seem to be 3 different sorts and I don’t know whether any of the ones I’ve got (AU adapter, US adapter) will work or whether I need to get something else. Adn if so what configuration? How many pins? Angled or not angled? Round or flat? Smoking or non-smoking? If anyone knows anything, that’s more than I do. Any help muchly appreciated.

My son has just introduced me to Google Play Music Manager (?) which basically, unless I’ve misunderstood (quite likely) seems to mean you can put your entire music library in the cloud for free. Anyone else use this, and what are the drawbacks? And will it always be there for me?

So apparently my ability to watch Youtube through my Apple TV has now been talen away from me. I don’t knpw whether to blame Apple, Google or Youtube bit apparently I’m being punished for not buying the mewer models. This would make me feel justified in accessing TV, movies and music without paying these greedy b*****ds. Not that I would of course. But I look forward to discovering some bright spark has found a way round this. Apple shpuld reward its loual customers, instead of punishing them for being an early adopter.

Anybody else watching Daredevil? I’d say it’s by far the best TV superhero show so far – though admittedly that may not be saying much. And I think I preferred it even to the Avengers, which seemed a bit overblown by comparison. It’s not perfect but it’ll do til perfect comes along. Or Fargo.

The time may be nigh to replace my old hifi. It’s a great Pioneer system, but its now over 25 years old. The CD players no longer work, and it’s now mainly used to play the TV through, either films/TV or music via an Apple TV box. It gives great sound – Im not sure what the output is but I can never put it up to full volume. Now, how would your modern mini hifi speakers compare – most seem to be about 30w output (?) – have they moved on a lot in 25 years? Could I just connect my old speakers up to the TV or does it have to run through an amp? I very rarely actually put on a CD these days – listening via iTunes library instead – but I’d like to still have the option. So does anyone have a favourite mini hifi they’d recommend? And what’s the diff between mini and micro hifi?

Looks like the family Mac has finally capitulated … But a replacement no longer has built-in dvd/cd drive – needed for copying old/borrowed/non-autorip cds. Apple’s own is £65 – any recommended cheaper alternatives or definite disrecommendations?
