I’ve been playing this track rather a lot recently as I think it’s spiffing Was released as a single as well. Hope you enjoy it!
Single Sleeve Double/Triple Albums
Way back in 1981 I was at a friends house and his brother had purchased Bruce’s “The River”. I’d heard it was a double album but was surprised to see it wasn’t in a gatefold sleeve. Thinking about this the other day as I played said record it got me thinking about which was the first double album to come in a single sleeve? Obviously there was “London Calling” and The Macs “Tusk” both from 79. “Physical Graffiti” from 1975 is the earliest one I can come up with. Are there any before this?
Blue Monday As You’ve Never Heard It Before
Apologies if this has already been posted but a friend has just alerted me to this. It is simply wonderful IMHO
DJ Sprinkles

Steve And Albert Anyone?
I remember seeing this song on the music section of “TV Hell”, an evening on BBC2 dedicated to bad tv which was shown in the early 1990’s. I came across the aforementioned programme on You Tube and watched the music section presented by John Peel and a short black and white excerpt this song was featured. Imagine my delight/horror that there was a colour clip from the Basil Brush show! It’s quite catchy in that cheesy, Europop tradition. But who were Steve and Albert? Does anyone else remember them? Did they release anything else? Were you one of the children in the audience? And if you were, did you catch a ball? Enjoy!
The Magic Of The FA Cup
Its 3rd round of the FA cup this weekend and the i-player has put up a selection of past highlights.
I never get bored of watching the Hereford v Newcastle clip from 1972.
That to me is all about the romance of the cup.
My team Doncaster Rovers take on Stoke tomorrow and I believe it’s the 5 live Extra commentary game .
What is your favourite FA Cup memory?
Stevie G’s last minute equalizer? Jim Montgomerys wonder save in 73? Ricky Villa’s solo effort? Gordon Smith’s last minute miss?

Finished Breaking Bad – Now What?
After 5 months have finally finished Breaking Bad and rather good it was too. So the question is what next? I’ve got the first 3 series of Mad Men,the first 2 series of The Wire and the first series of Treme. All have been bought cheap (i.e charity shops and boot sales) and none have been looked at yet. Which way to go people? Your recommendations are welcomed.
Ticket Prices Quiz
Whilst going through some stuff the other day I came among some old tickets and I was struck by how much they’ve cost over the years. So I thought I’d try a quiz. I’m going to list various concerts with dates and venues. Can you guess how much a ticket for said show was? I’ll post the answers on Friday. Best of luck and no Googling!!

Help Required Top Of The Pops With Roger Daltrey
Has anyone got a copy of this from a few weeks ago when Roger co-hosted with Tommy Vance on the BBC4 repeats of TOTP as my mate is a massive Who fan and he missed it and as it’s his birthday soon I thought I’d try and locate a copy for him. Thanks in advance

When A Best Of Is Enough
How many groups or artists are best represented by a best of rather than having to amass their full back catalogue? Example; Some bands you just can’t distill their escence into a double cd Here I would cite The Beatles,Stones,Steely Dan,Pink Floyd,The Who,Dylan,Miles Davis, etc. But here’s some who (I think ) you can; The Jam – I have all their albums but the cd I play the most is the double Snap! Tells you all you need to know Blur – Again I have all the albums and love Parklife but again the double best of will suffice Abba – Gold is all anyone needs
It’s all down to personal choice I know. And with that I’ll throw it open to you dear Afterworders
The Enid – Rain Down
Reminded today how great this song is and if you’ve never heard it here’s your chance
That’s all
Your First Compilation
After re-listening to the excellent NWOBHM podcast from this here site, I went to hunt out my first proper compilation album I bought, namely K-Tels “Axe Attack Volume 2”. I got it from Binns department store in Scunthorpe. It was in the bargain section at the ridiculously cheap price of £1.75. I must have bought it towards the end of 1981. And look at this track listing! Side One Rainbow – Since You’ve Been Gone Motorhead – Ace Of Spades Black Sabbath – Die Young Samson – Earth Mother MSG – Armed And Ready Rush – The Trees Scorpions – The Zoo
Side Two Whitesnake – Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City Iron Maiden – Murders In The Rue Morgue Def Leppard – Rock Brigade Ted Nugent – Flesh And Blood Gillan – Mutually Assured Destuction Blue Oyster Cult – Godzilla UFO – Mystery Train Judas Priest – United
For a 12 year old fledgling headbanger this was heaven. So my question to you is what was the first multi artist compilation you got? No single artist best ofs please. For the older heads it may possibly be one of those Island or Vertigo samplers. For the » Continue Reading.
Cleaning Up After Horses – Genuine Question
I know there is a (supposed) law about having to clean up after your dog if it fouls on the street. But what is the law regarding horses? I live in what might be described a country town and we have a fair few stables and horse riders. Very often there will be a huge pile of dung in the middle of the road after a horse has emptied its bowels. I know as opposed to a dog bag the owner would need a bucket, shovel and sack to clean up but why is it deemed “acceptable” to leave horse poo but not dogs? Genuinely would like to know if there are any laws on this subject.
