If you haven’t tuned in yet this weeks Top of the Pops is a classic. Daltrey being the worlds biggest twat and Tommy Vance proving why Radio was his natural medium.
Note: Daltrey’s casual homophobia was cut but his casual sexism left in.

What does it sound like?:
A bit Psych, a bit Synth Pop with spoken word from Maxine Peake. The story of an obsessive fan in pursuit of Johnny Rocket lead singer of The Moonlandingz (Lias Saoudi & Saul Adamczewski of Fat White Family with the ERC). Set in the fictional Valhalla Dale in South Yorkshire, a world of piss filled canals, bricks and kittens, where Thursday is always chippy tea night. The story turns dark and violent and the legacy of Thatcher and her attempted destruction of the north looms large over this valley.
Discordant and beautiful with brilliant Pop songs from The Moonlandingz it is the best of the year so far
What does it all *mean*?
The only thing worse than an obnoxious Pop star is a mad Pop fan(atic)
Goes well with…
Black Pudding, Chips, Scraps, Mild and Bitter.
Might suit people who like…
Ghostbox artists, Motorik, late 70s early 80s electronica (Cabs, Human League etc) Play Misty For Me. Gritty Northern drama. Concept Albums and Rock Operas

I don’t normally post stuff like this but my wonderful out-of-this-world wife has just had these two delivered for my 50th next month. Wow! But I’m not allowed to open them yet!

I don’t know if this this has been mentioned on here, but this is sad news. Always been fascinated by ‘Death Discs’ and her’s was one of the best. And she was married to The Milk Tray Man!

Forget that line-up of multi millionaires who have just realised that they haven’t got all the money in the world yet and this silly talk of not listening to any new music for five years and have a look at some of the new albums that came out this week. After a whole two days of listening I think they are all pretty wonderful, and I’m finding it hard to say which is my favorite at the moment. So have a listen to the new Sufjan Stevens (very low key but heartbreaking and lovely), Godspeed You! Black Emperor (Speaker shaking compelling slabs of noise), Ryley Walker (fantastic new psych-folk which harks beautifully back to the 70s), The Soft Moon (Dark and doom laden), and a new edition of Jane Weaver’s The Silver Globe with a whole new album (The Amber Light) which is as good as The Silver Globe.

Came home early from work today (tripped over a pallet truck on Friday banged my head, scraped my hand and have a massive lump and bruise above my knee which is making it impossible to be on my feet all day as usual) but this has given me a laugh

Best ones are The Guardians of the Galaxy being turned into ponies (but not Rocket) and the Mary Poppins/Birdwoman erotic fiction!

Venue:
The Dome, Brighton
Date: 28/02/2015
A try-out for the fourth series of Comedy Vehicle, the show consists of six roughly half hour routines (of which he does three in one show). On the night we went we got Islam, Urine and The UKips all of which were brilliant. Lee is really at the top of his game at the moment with the deconstruction of the ‘jokes’ funnier than ever. His piece about the Ukippers which really isn’t about them (but it is really) is genius. His new hearing aids means that he can hear the laughter which seemed to lighten his personae, except for the bit mentioned below!
The audience:
A full house for his second night in Brighton (a third has been added in June). But why can’t people sit for 50 minutes or so and watch the show, at times it was non-stop. So much so that Lee finally snapped and called the six people wandering about C**ts which got a huge cheer. There was much less movement in the second half!
It made me think..
A fantastic evening with Britain’s top comic, all of this without appearing on Live at the Apollo!

This is a show not to be missed, featuring the marvelous, stunning, brilliant ( I quite like him!) Richard Dawson.
The official vid for The Vile Stuff is below.

Enough of these crappy old blues guitarists churning out the same album year after year, this is an album to look forward to.
