Mike Procter RIP
Obituary
One of the greatest all rounders cricket has ever seen. only played seven tests due to the correct boycott of South Africa but a county cricket stalwart for fourteen seasons. No other player has been so important to a county cricket side that the county gets its name nominally changed to his … Gloucestershire to Proctershire 1417 first class wickets at 19.5 21936 first class runs at 36 including 48 centuries. a hero of my childhood and beyond.Just watch the clip of his hat-trick against Hampshire in 1977.
My Life Story klaxon
‘Loving You is Killing Me’ the new album by Jake Shillingford and his band of merry My Life Story music makers. an album of lyrically excellent power pop influenced bangers, not the orchestral songs of the first couple of albums but a very strong follow up to ‘World Citizen’ and they are going to sound great played live. i know there are a few on here who enjoy Jake’s music, possibly not as much as me but I think it’s well worth a listen and passes the six listen test.

My Life Story klaxon
i know a few on here who like the music that Jake Shillingford releases. first new single in four years is out today, a song that sounds like it will be a banger when performed live.
the original Wednesday
sadly Lisa Loring who played the original Wednesday Addams has left us, only 64. she was only 5/6 when she did the original filming. this leaves John Astin (Gomez) as the only surviving original cast member
maxi jazz
yet another musician gone to early
now thatis what i call a test match
brilliant win by England against Pakistan. superb attacking batting then great bowling and an inspired declaration …McCullum and Stokes have found a formula to get people interested again … long may it continue … who would believe that Jimmy is 40
Another sad loss in a bad week for music
Sad to hear that ‘Sweet Pea’ Atkinson, vocalist with Was (Not Was) has passed. such a great soul voice that worked so well alongside Harry Bowens and brought Don and David’s songs to life.
More Corona loses
Sad to hear that we have also lost Hal Willner who assembled the great ‘Stay Awake, interpretations of Disney film songs’ album and tribute albums to the music of Kurt Weill to this bastard virus yesterday.
Also it went under the radar that last week former Ze Records artist Christina Zilkha died … a quite unique artist and part of the New York scene.
Very sad both of these, it worries me how many more we will lose before their time.
Kerry and Kurten for a final time
Just a reminder that one of the best comedies of the last few years returns to our screens tonight … ‘This Country’ created by the wonderful Daisy May and Charlie Cooper I just think it’s brilliantly observed and also incredibly funny.
Sadly this is to be the final series but they will both go on to bigger and better things
