Author:Mobeen Azhar
BBC reporter and Prince obsessive Mobeen Azhar may be familiar to some from his excellent 2015 Radio 4 documentary ‘Hunting For Prince’s Vault’.
He has put together this book on Prince, which is not a biography or even a comprehensive history of Prince. Indeed, it contains no interviews at all with him.
Instead, this is a personal story of reminiscences by people who worked with Prince over the years – notably omitting, unfortunately, Wendy and Lisa. It does, however, include conversations with band members, managers, childhood friends, etc who remember their time working with him at various points in his career.
There’s no in depth analysis of his albums or music on offer here, just fond recollections – scenes and snapshots from the movie of the life of Prince.
