The website doesn’t appear to have changed for 3 weeks unless there’s a problem at my end. Anyone else still got the Jungle and Paul Weller albums at the top?
Was wondering if this is a technical issue or a company problem?

Having blatherd on about how “Thick as a Brick” is just a parody of a prog album, Ian Anderson has now decided that “A Passion Play” is crap as well (The latest Word In Your Ear podcast).
Pleased as I am to hear interviews with some of my faves, I’d really rather they just shut the f…k up when it comes to dissing their own work. These are two of my favourite albums… ever.
Debut album from Gizmodrome. Stewart Copeland, Mark King, Adrian Belew, Vittorio Cosma.
I’ll leave you to make your own mind up over the quality of the album
…is surely that it simply won’t be constrained by having to be performed in any one way. Bank Holiday fun.
I don’t think this is a site problem really but I just wondered if Anyone had come across this before?
I can access every site in the world on my PC EXCEPT theafterword.co.uk in my house, if I access the site via WiFi on my phone it times out – switch to 3g and it loads perfectly, so the issue is either my connection (its the same on my wife’s PC so its not specifically my machine) The PC’s are Ethernet connected, by the way, and run Windows 10.
Just wondered if you’d ever heard of this? I see myself as a bit of geek but I’ve never seen this before. I’ve reset my router, flushed the DNS cache, cleared cookies and the cache in Chrome and even set my hosts file back to the default – all to no avail. It’s not just Chrome, either, in case anyone thinks it’s a browser problem.
I’ve run out of ideas. And so did the nice man from Sky. If anyone has any clue at all it would save me a lot of grief!!
In a moment between dusting and hoovering I was reflecting on the recent losses and this came to mind. Its long but bear with it. You’ll love it or hate it.
Does anyone know if the full version of this Godley & Creme album is available to buy anywhere digitally. Several searches have only turned up the shortened versions and most of them are hooky downloads.
Inquisitive though I am, over £100 quid to buy an album I may only listen to once isn’t justifiable, even for a dedicated Afterworder
Brain Furey was on Radcliffe and Maconie last week touting a re-issue of Country Life and referring to some re-mixes but i can’t find any reference to this on Google (although I have had a G&T). Also seemed to suggest that the first two albums also had the same treatment
Anyone know what he was on about?
I realised yesterday that my rip of my beloved “Nobody’s Perfect” is corrupted on a couple of tracks (and therefore also on the 3 back up copies I have!). Since they pulled the digital release a few months back on Pledge Music this album is still only out there on 2nd hand vinyl, a medium I no longer have the ability to play so I can’t even buy it that way. No CD was ever released and the only torrent I can find is a Chinese site which I’m not going anywhere near!
You’ve probably guessed where I’m heading with this. Does anyone have a decent quality rip they could point me in the direction of? Format not important, just high enough quality that I can convert it to something Sonos will play and not have it sound as if it was recorded in a bathroom somewhere.
On my knees begging – that’s me that is.
My favourite sweary stop/start bit. This has been sending a small shudder down my spine for almost 40 years. 2:15 onwards to jump to the sweary stop/start bit. Any others this good?
There have been several threads here regarding how to revive or extend / enhance your iPod classic but it looks like there’s a new way – add a Solid State Drive up to 1TB! That’s around 3000 UNCOMPRESSED tracks.
the link shows you how to do it yourself but I’m sure that plenty of services will spring up (or have already) that will do it for you at a price.

I can’t stand “country” generally, certainly not the non-alt. version anyway and this track is everything I should hate – country, mawkish, soppy etc etc…but I love it.
Anything float your boat that should have it sinking like a brick to the deepest depths?
Sorry – I can usually get them to embed, but not this time!
I know there’s love for the “longest ever gap between albums” Mancunians here and they’ve been touting the box set of their re-releases (worth it for a remastered “Nobody’s Perfect” alone, I hope) for a while now but it’s pricey.
There’s now a digital download version available for pre-order at £40. You still don’t get it immediately, but it seems it will be out by the end of June if I’m reading the small print properly.

No, seriously its REALLY good – he’s back to writing great tunes again. Best album since “Liars” if that helps anyone place it and after a couple of listens, its that good.
The video is a remix of a b-side as I couldn’t find a track off the album, but if you thought you might go fo the album you shouldn’t be disappointed. Also on Spotify
It feels almost churlish to raise it given all the hard work that’s gone on to get us back home again, but is there any chance of putting the logo back on the site, or getting a new one.
It just feels slightly bare and functional with just the bold “Afterword” lettering at the top.
