I need to sell a Peugeot 5008 and I’m considering using the above. Don’t know why but I’m a bit sniffy about them though I couldn’t tell you why.
Thing is , the car has a problem with the diesel injectors which go out of tolerance causing the ECU to shut down and the car to lose power unexpectedly. Have taken the car to a diesel specialist who have cleared the ecu but can’t seem to fix the problem or are even sure there is a problem
Anyone used We buy any Car or got any alternatives? Obviously I’m not going to sell anyone the car without explaining the issue!
Thanks

I used them for a valuation on a 2011 Jaguar XF that I sold in 2016.
The price they quoted was well below the market value I had got from other online valuation sites so I sold it privately, with all the hassle that goes with that, but I got £1500 more than they offered.
If you need the cash now then they are fine but otherwise you will get more elsewhere IMO.

That’s my impression of them. Fine if you’re in need of a quick cash injection but otherwise steer clear. The guarantee that they’ll buy and quickly is the only advantage.

I’d guess that’s a “disclosable condition” and the value will be suitably adjusted.
Private sale may well be better, unless you want the money quick, as UW has said.

Yep, I’ve had a quote for the Peugeot with no problems for £2600 and with a disclosable issue, non bodywork, £1300. Lucky that we don’t really need to sell quickly but think the injector issue would keep private buyers away.
Don’t exactly know how the process works. If they quote me £1300 with a disclosable issue, what happens when I rock up at their premises. I assume they’ll check it out and not simply write me a cheque?

Sold a Mini through them a few years ago. In my experience they certainly check it out and regardless of age look for any chips, marks, wheel damage etc and look to take what they offered online down even further. As others have said, useful for a quick sale though that’s all in my opinion.

My only experience with them was that they gave the same figure that a main dealer did (Audi Q2). We got a grand more by advertising on Auto Trader when another dealer picked up on the ad. Personally, I’d rather trade in a car with a fault to a main dealer and let their system deal with it rather than sell it privately, knowing it’s going to cost the buyer money.

Yep. If you’re buying a replacement, trade it in – in whatever condition – they’ll give you more than WBAC. My old Golf had dodgy brakes and a sticky gearbox – it even jumped out of gear as the driver who delivered the new(ish) one reversed it off my driveway.
It was sold by the dealer (over an hour away) at auction, and bought as a runner by someone in the next village (5 minutes away). I have no idea whether it passed the next MOT.

I used their offshoot, We Buy Any Damaged Car, 8 years ago. It wasn’t a bodywork issue, my car’s engine was wrecked after the fuel pump disintegrated and there was no economically viable replacement. What they offered seemed no better or worse than i could get elsewhere and the whole process was remarkably straightforward. I think they even paid me before collecting the car.
