Good luck, but think you might struggle to sell them.
Given that streamed versions of so many traditional boots are now easily available via eel markets or YT, demand for physical copies must be pretty limited
I have seen bootlegs sold on Ebay. Do a search for the album you want to sell. Then tick the completed box. The items with prices in green sold for that price. The prices in black didn’t sell. This gives you an indication of what you could get. People who want to buy them know that they’re boots. Don’t put them for auction. You want a buyer who will snap it up and that’s it done.
Thanks. Coupla record stores weren’t interested. One due to no discogs pricing and the other uneasy about having them boys n the shelf. Sooks.
Have tried to avoid ebay. So I either bite the bullet, or they stay on the shelf. @Jaygee you could be right but every album is available via streaming, or most anyway, but records still have buyers.
There are.auction houses here which have days devoted to music memorabilia and vinyl. You can bid online so the market is muxh bigger than whoever happens to turn up. If you have equivalent in Aus, they might be worth a try.
Yes. Collectorists will always collect.
I think biting the bullet and going on Ebay is your best bet. Might be a slow response without a known profile as a seller, but once you get started..
Despite having been on eBay UK with 100% feedback since 2002, and having been buying stuff in Oz for 10 years with the same ID, when I tried to sell a camera on Oz eBay last year I had to set up a completely new account. This involved a lot of faffing around, and when it sold they sat on the $$ for weeks while they went through some sort of process of establishing I was kosher. Don’t know if this is the new eBay procedure, but be warned.
The account move from UK to Oz EBay must have triggered that. A fraud check.
You’d think they’d be able to verify you as bonafide pretty quickly though. If they wanted to.
Hanging onto your money obviously benefits them, but it sucks for you.
I sold about 20 original Mapfumo singles to a friend, probably well under open market but he is a collector and younger than me so I know they have gone to a good home.
Depending on what you’ve got and prices, l’m up for buying some if you pm me. Just bought Bob Dylan’s Hurricane Carter Benefit double album on ebay for £25 if that’s any help.
As you’ve probably guessed, I’d be interested to see a list too – the only hesitation I have is the distance the boots would have to travel to reach Foxy Towers!

Try E-BAY – using a non-de-plume for title i.e. B/L ?

*cough* somewhere one obtains items of dubious intellectual property ownership. It says here. Allegedly.

And yet everything I’ve ever bought on eBay Oz has always turned up in my purchase history on eBay UK…

I think Rough Trade’s Flip Vinyl will buy them, but they will offer you pennies.

Junes, are these rare African things recorded on vinyl made from recycled tractor tyres? Got any Mapfumo gems?

I’ve just bought the Dylan one but interested in others from him and other bands.
