Musings on the byways of popular culture
I haven’t been for years, but when I did I stayed here. I was in a budget room, but there were bigger options with sea views. The big plus is that thus place is in easy walking distance of all the main attractions in Sultanahmet, the metro is reachable, and there is a taxi rank just outside of you want to go further.

Same as Gatz, I haven’t been for years – look for somewhere in Sultanahmet with good views over the Marmaris, I used to go to just such a place, with a restaurant on the top floor; but it was a budget backpacker guesthouse.

I love Hilton Bosphorus – very retro, amazing views, not so cheap.
My wife was there last month and loved it (but it is being rennovated).

Only times I’ve been to Istanbul was for business which meant fancy dan and expensive.
A mate went here early summer this year and was very pleased – great views of the blue Mosque. Think he paid around €120 a night
