I freely admit to being a novice when it comes to streaming, so am looking for some advice on the pros and cons on investing in a hi-fi network streamer. I have a substantial music collection built around CD and a largely Marantz based hi fi system. I occasionally stream music on my iPhone or connect it to my hi fi system using the CD player’s USB socket. The sound quality from streaming through my iPhone into the CD player is noticeably inferior to playing back CDs, but I don’t know if this is due to the limitations of my iPhone or the CD player (or both). I use Amazon Music Unlimited which currently streams in HD.
My question is fairly basic – would it be worthwhile investing in a music streamer? I’m not looking to spend a fortune and was looking at an entry level device. The Marantz NA6006 has caught my eye, would fit in aesthetically with my system, and seems to have gained some decent reviews. I’m not looking to do anything fancy like multi-streaming in different rooms using bluetooth, and would most likely continue to buy CDs. Any thoughts from the experts on here? Thanks.
