Does anyone else find that when they play videos on websites their iPad then stops playing videaos at all, whether on Safari in the YouTube app or whatever? Mine has been doing that for a couple of months now and it’s becoming a real pain.
The solution to getting videos running again is simple enough (go to settings and reset all) but a) I then have to reset the wifi, the password and other settings as well as passwords on sites like this (I’ve got it all down to a couple of minutes now but it’s a hassle I could live without) and b) when I have done that it will only be a few days before video crashes again and I have repeat all the resets.
Any ideas?

Get an Android.
Possibly not as constructive as you intended it to be, but thanks for the interest.
Yes apologies, unforgivably sarky. I have this problem actually, if I (say) go to YT via this Blog, Facebook, Twitter etc. IIRC there’s a YT option for viewing it in native YT rather than via the Blog page which seems to work better. Mind you my iPad is V2 and so ancient and is slowly grinding to a halt with each batch of updates.
No apology necessary, but thanks.
This happened with my phone, but not my iPad, strangely. Netflix, YouTube, Mubi, all the same. But then it sorted itself out without any intervention from me. Hope it’s the same for you!
I had a similar problem with my browser (Google Chrome) on my Windows laptop. Tried using another browser and videos played OK. Solved by uninstalling Chrome and reinstalling it.
Maybe you should try uninstalling and reinstalling Safari, if that’s possible.
Is it all up to date, iOS and apps?
Have you tried closing all the apps, double click on the start button and flick all the apps off screen? Power off/on doesn’t clear anything because all the apps start again automatically (at least mine do).
How about flicking to airplane mode for a few seconds then back to wifi?
I haven’t seen the problem you describe, but our gen 2 iPad is grinding to a halt in its old age.
Get rid of apps and stuff you don’t use.
Restart
I haven’t had the problem you mention, but my iPad 2 was playing up something rotten – switching itself off, demanding I connect to iTunes to restart it, and all manner of weird things. I thought it was just old and I’d have to replace it. Before doing so I did a complete restore to factory settings via iTunes (deleting all downloaded apps and losing all conent in the process) and to my surprise it was as good as new afterwards. I subsequently downloaded only the few apps I genuinely need and it’s worked perfectly ever since.
