Does anyone use JamUp or something similar? Also, what do they use to connect guitar and iPad? I quite like the look of the Griffin Studio Connect.
I had JamVox, some Korg based software with a bundled speaker which I could import mp3’s into and play along, masking the guitar sound if you wanted to, and emulating dozens of amp and pedal sounds, changing the pitch for songs in drop D tuning and so on. It was great – no latency, but sadly prone to crashing my PC, and now just won’t work at all. I’d like to find something to replace it. All recommendations would be gratefully received.

I use the Apogee Jam to connect leccy geetar with iPad. It’s a bit pricey but it’s brilliant. Highly recommended. Plug in and woosh, you’re away, no hassle and good sound quality.

Bleugh I’m not letting my guitar anywhere near my iPad. It might catch something. This is what you want, and a bottleneck.

They’ve produced a Strat with a USB port on it FFS. Everything is going to shit.
I got an iShred live cable…which comes with a ‘free’ app of pedals/effects/variable pitch tuner. (More pedals/effects can be bought ‘in app’ of course). However it plugs into the headphone socket of my iphone & does the job. Though I mainly use the cable to connect it to Garageband but that’s not the point…
I got one of these:
for Christmas year before last. It’s triffic. Great way to while away the hours of an evening.
I’ve already written 11 number one hits!
