I know we’ve had similar threads, but not for a while and technology moves quickly.
Daughter has a birthday in a couple of weeks. She listens to music on a Sandisk sports player, her Moto phone, an Android tablet, a Windows laptop, probably soon a Fiio X1. She has an ability to trash wired earbuds, we’re lucky if a pair lasts more than 3 or 4 weeks.
What’s the verdict on Bluetooth in-ears, and what do you suggest? Budget up to about £100.
I have a pair of Awei A845BL in ears that I keep on me. Nothing special, no noise cancelling but they are IPX4 water resistant, durable, comfortable and work pretty well to my ears. Set you back about £20, so use the budget to buy five pairs and they should last a wee while.
I bought them entirely by accident, sight unseen, to use a voucher I had for Christmas that I couldn’t use for much else I was interested in. Very pleasantly surprised.
I abandoned the silicone buds and bought a set of memory foam ones instead.
Sennheiser’s replacement policy is quite good. I’ve had a couple of my daughter’s ear buds replaced under warranty with no quibble. Probably not the solution you’re looking for but worth knowing.
Probably not appropriate given your list of sources (and they are more expensive), but I recently got a pair of the Apple AirPods and have been very impressed.
I had always been against them (always assuming wired were better quality, I would lose of the the AirPods etc etc), but when my trusty Bose IE2s finally gave up, I decided to go Bluetooth. Basically I wanted something that I could use with the phone, the MacBook at work for watching at lunch and the iPad. The problem I found with most of the Bluetooth earphones were that they had a wire bit that went round the neck which I found cumbersome. The Apple ones are just the ear pods and that’s it and they do work seemlessly across all my Apple kit – switching between phone and MacBook etc etc. Sound is reasonably good and sufficient for what I use them for. And I haven’t lost one yet……
No experience of them myself, but the Grauniad did a joint review of bluetooth earbuds recently, there’s a couple that look like they’ll suit you…

If it’s robustness and ability to survive teenage life (school bus, lunch queue etc) then daughter moles got 3 years daily use out of a pair of Jabra Moves – not the most up to date but roadtested in a Birmingham school. The life of a pair of wired in-ears at her school was not long…
I fear on-ears with a headband would mess up the hairstyle…
Never spend 100 quid on earphones for a youngster. My (almost teenage) daughter gets through a pair every couple of weeks, about 10 dollars is my limit now, as they don’t really care about sound quality anyway. You can also get reasonably priced bluetooth adapters that you can plug any earphones into.
Well, quite. I was hoping if there are no wires she’s less likely to break them.
She treats the wired ones like shit (e.g. pulls them out by the cables), then wonders why they break. I bought her Soundmagic E10s last year, noticeably better built than the usual 5 quid type, and they lasted slightly longer at 5-6 weeks.
Because I am a) old and b) a fussy pain in the arse, I use these clear pencil cases in my work bag for earbuds, charging cables and adaptors.

At 50p each, they’re a bargain. Convincing your daughter to use one might be a challenge.
I was going to say that. These are great, and I got some for the boy, age 15 and they have survived 3 months with him which puts them in a class of their own already. We both have a pair now.

excellent in every way.
Those Apple earplugs look like you’ve got two pieces of white plastic drainpipe sticking out of yer lugholes. For a company whose products are largely about style over function they’re bloody ugly looking things.
Thankyou all, I went with the ones Twang suggested because I am a cheapskate. I will report back with my verdict.
The presh, the presh…..
Top tip, once inserted you have to pivot them downwards, for optimal seating…
They’re the same as the ones Si suggested, too, so you can share the praise/blame.
Yes I was going to say that.
