He was indeed. Poppa Funk they called him. It’s been a tough time in NOLA.
My first trip to the Holy City was 1992. On my first night I saw Fats and Dr John at the Municipal Auditorium. Next day I saw The Nevilles at Tipitinas. Pretty much all gone now.
For no clear reason except that it seems appropriate.
