I’m going to see Steve Wynn there next month. It’s a new venue for me. Anyone been there? Is there a bar? The usual facilities? Acoustics any good? Any and all info welcome. Thanks.

Hi Think I saw a Jim Moray gig there about a year ago. Small venue, pretty basic and OKish acoustics from recollection if I have the right place. Facilities OK No permanent bar but think they had set up a temporary bar. Nothing like Union Chapel if that is your point of comparison

Not been personally, but no bad reports from people I know who have been. Good small space for acoustic/quiet gigs, I’m told.

I have seen a couple of gigs there. Kim Richey was one and someone else whom I’m trying to recall was the other.
It’s a nice venue, I thought. Acoustics seem fine. A little bit cold in winter.
Don’t confuse it with St Pancras New Church, which is on Euston Road. I saw Bruce Cockburn at the New Church last year, but fortunately checked the venue beforehand and realised there were two separate churches. The old one is on Pancras Road.

Do tell.

The-Quartet supported by Syd Arthur but there’s some sort of collaboration involved – Caravan crossed with Miles allegedly. Info here….

New album in March.
April 11th. Looks really interesting.
@vulpes-vulpes, there are Bristol dates…

The Canterbury Scene lives!
That does look interesting.

See you there! I think tickets are moving so get in.

“Unfortunately”, I’ll be out of the country so unable to attend or you most certainly would see me there. Will miss the Long Ryders too.

If it’s where I’m thinking of*, where Blue Rose Code recorded a live album, the acoustics are not great. Nothing like as good as the Baptist Chapel in Waterbeach, where they recorded a practice run the previous week.
(*) just checked: it is

Many thanks for the replies, everyone. I’m a little bit the wiser now.

We have been recently, small, a fraction of the size of the union chapel. One loo for all plus a very well appointed portaloo round the outside of the church. Home made bar, 10 rows of pews at the front then standing so get there early if you want to sit.
