Yes – I bought Go to School a few years ago and really liked it – this new one sounds promising too. Are there any complete blinders that have passed me by in the intervening years?
Thanks for posting. I’ve never heard them (or even heard of them) before, but on the basis of the above songs, I like their 60s, jingle-jangle, Lauren Canyon-ish, Beach Boys-meet-Byrds sound.
Any advice on which of their albums to get, and any to avoid?
They’re all pretty good. I suppose the nearest thing to a ‘hit’ they had here was their ‘Go to School’ album which (and don’t be put off) was a ‘concept’ album about a family who adopt a chimp. Yes, I know. But it’s very tuneful and charming and also features a cameo from Todd Rundgren (who the band seriously admire). There are loads of clips on You Tube featuring live performances and interviews. They seem like pleasant chaps.
It’s great. Utterly generic but all those jangly bands sound like that with exactly the same chord sequences and the same melodies. I was listening to the first Cosmic Rough Riders album yesterday which I love and they’re all present and correct there too.
Saw them touring “A Dream Is All We Know” and they were great – exactly what you’d expect, and all the better for it. The brothers being Brian and Michael is still amusing, I wonder if they get asked to cover that song…
My search couldn’t find it, but I posted a live review here in August 2018, when they played erstwhile Word hangout The Lexington in Islington. I’m abroad at the moment, so gutted to be missing their UK tour… a great band, and yet to release anything close to a duff album.

Well, there was this one…
And this
And the (non) hits keep coming. This would have been a smash in 1965.
And I just love this one….
And this is none too shabby

Fun pastiche maybe but nothing new?
Nothing is new under the sun.
Especially in rawk n roll.
A tune is timeless.
Sigh. A band only has to reach for a Rickenbacker and they will be showered with grumpy dismissals that ignore what really matters – the chooooons.
Cheers, eddie. You’ve rekindled my enthusiasm for a cracking band.
‘New’ for some means ‘tuneless shite.’
Like Geese…

“Mmmmm…jangly…”

“The force of Todd Rundgren is strong in this one, Luke Skywalker.”
I casually liked what I’ve heard over time, and I’m really enjoying the recent couple of singles. I think it’s time to dive in.
Saw them last night. Very, very good. Their new album is lovely.
