So impressed by this. An unfeasibly large Tiny Desk band, quite a few of whom were roped in for the occasion, producing absolutely superb music which brought a tear to the eye. (That seems to happen more and more often these days.) There’s a hint she might have listened to her parents’ Joni Mitchell elpees when she was a kid, but the songs are brilliant, full of light and shade. Did I mention that I think she’s quite good?

And as your official Pomplemoose correspondent, I’m happy to report that she’s done a vid with them.

I think I went through a period of watching or listening to that version of “Monster” at least once a day for a year or so. The drumming continues to blow my tiny mind.
She’s done something on the latest Cory Wong album too. I believe you may have been responsible for introducing me to both him and Pomplamoose, @Mikethep? Thanks…

Pomplemoose yes, pretty sure Cory Wong no, that must have been somebody else. Nice song though.

I’ll check this out later. She has formed a group, FIZZ, with Orla Gartland and other friends – that’s Orla behind her on piano and guitar – they will have an album out in the next few weeks I think*. Thanks for reminding me, @mikethep I’m not familiar with Dodie but I’m very impressed with Orla Gartland.

Reminds me of Regina Spektor, in a more lavish setting, in that TinyDesk clip.
It’s very good. Obviously a hell of a lot of work went into it pre-recording.
She’s not my kind of thing, currently, but I’d be happy to see/hear her on a bill with someone that I’d set out to see. Didn’t much like that Fizz clip though. Technically excellent harmonies but a bit of a misery-wallow.

I got exactly the same goosebumps as when I listened to Lorde the first time – magnificent!!!
