He really was excellent in Twin Peaks…and indeed most of the Lynchian universe. What an awful year for Peaks alumni.

Damn shame. His work on the first two seasons was amazing, simultaneously alien and familiar.
In the midst of Britpop, he collaborated with none other than the band James and Tim Booth to create some extraordinary magic.
“Extraordinary magic” seems like a good summation of the man’s overall oeuvre now that I think of it.
Mulholland Drive’s moody, slow burn noir-ish (and obviously dreamy) soundtrack will be accompanying me this evening.
I love Straight Story’s score too: its whimsical, lilting folksiness.
Also he always seemed avuncular and amiable, an obliging interviewee.
That Booth and the Bad Angel album is aces. Here’s the single to remind us how so:
The Booth & Bad Angel is a superb album. It got reissued on vinyl last year & is a beautiful edition, I will have it on today.
