I don’t want to cause the blog to combust in an orgy of dribbling expectation (that’s a lie, for openers), but I’ve just been informed that Afterword Royalty Andrew W.K will release his first new album in 8 years on 2 March 2018.
Full details here:
“I’m going for the sound of pure, unadulterated power; every emotion, every thought, every experience, every sensation, every fear, every joy, every clarity, every confusion, every up, every down… all extruded and concentrated into one thick syrup of super life-force feeling, and then psychically amplified by the celebratory spirit of glorious partying.”

Here he is giving the greatest interview ever….
And here he is making young people happy once upon a time, in scenes later captured for posterity by Hieronymous Bosch….
Roll on March.

It’s Tenpole Tudor meets Slipknot.

*EXCITING UPDATE*
In what is surely the most tremendous development in the history of the Afterword, yesterday evening I was party to a quite remarkable happening, a brief account of which I feel morally obliged to now furnish in this here space so provided.
Long story short, I – Bingo Little, ACTUALLY MET ANDREW WK.
Let’s all take a moment to absorb the above information.
Obviously, things can never be the same now. I will still occasionally appear among you, and I will look normal: an actual, functioning human. But while my physical being may grace the blogspace, my astral presence will run wild and free, unfettered by the chains of base human corporeality, free to roam the stars and do as I will with the moonbeams.
Ahem.
Long story short, a chum of mine fixed it up. AWK was giving an interview in front of an elite (ha!) gathering of media types, and he was able to smuggle me in and arrange for a bit of a one on one chat, during which I was able to (a) ascertain that the artist is as marvelous a fellow as might have been predicted, a fellow traveler on the road to love, happiness and a greater understanding of this human condition we all share; and (b) to thank him for putting on the greatest live show to which I have ever born witness. Seriously, he was a righteous dude, 10/10 would meet again.
In other superb news, he also has a new single out, ahead of an album release in a couple of months’ time, and it’s an absolute banger.
Music Is Worth Living For.
So, there we are. Lives changed, worlds rocked. The foundations of our very reality torn asunder and remade in ways too remarkable and terrifying to find full expression. I cannot promise to lead you into this brave new world, only to do my utmost to spread the light of wisdom and common compassion as far as I am able, and to share the journey as long as my legs are willing.
May god have mercy on us all.

And in case anyone is wondering about the provenance of that quite magnificent album cover showcased in the video above, here’s a little thing about how it came to be….

The Thames Valley Police response is also very cool (click to see the whole convo.)

I did! I also met the actual Luke Mitchell (per the above) last night. Nice chap.
My favourite response to the tweet is “I partied hard to your music all the way through college and have student loans – what about those?”.

Wahey!

There’s a disappointing lack of the advertised DANCING LADIES! in the clip above. Looks to me like one of those men only events.

I want you to down this, rip those underpants off your avatar and dance on that table.

I left before I even got there.
