I thought that some of you might be interested to read my recent interview with Andrew. Our chat was less than an hour but this piece is almost 6, 000 words. To be fair, I left out very little, it was all fine stuff.

Good read. Ta.
Very good, thanks
Nice one, Hoggster.
Thanks for posting. Really enjoyed it.
yep ditto the above,ta…
Very good stuff, thanks. Bigmouth was going a while before I realised it existed, no doubt it was here I found out about it and I really enjoy it, even when they are going on about stuff I have no interest in like Game Of Thrones and grime.
thanks for that, good read
A very good read, thanks!
Great article. Best of luck with the marathon.
Very good. He seems like a good egg. Been losing interest in the Bigmouth podcast with their obsession with Game of Thrones and other comic nonsense, but I guess it brings in more listeners.
I deleted the last one because it looked like it might be full of GoT spoilers and I haven’t seen the latest series yet (I’m happy to be corrected). What irks me is that he never stops finding the word bangers (for tunes that make your feet move, not breasts) hilarious. I still enjoy it though, and it fills a gap where the Word podcast used to be.
Cheers Hogg I’ll give that a read.
Excellent long form interview – just like the Word.
Thoughts
– gosh I miss the mag . Hardly read any music mags now. and I miss the camaraderie of us discussing articles we’ve all just read. (well a week or so later for antipodean subscribers).
Never thought of Pet Shop boys as particularly thoughtful and introspective though all things are relative I guess.
John Denver. My late Dad had a double best of and I gve it a spin expecting to be surprised by the gems overlooked. nope shallow dross. the hits are him and that’s all there is.
I should get back into podcasts.
I was staying with friends in Ireland once, and they took me to what they described as the best music pub for miles around, telling me tales of raucous lock-ins and the like. Two rather shy young women set up in the corner and said, ‘ We’re great fans of John Denver and we’d like to entertain you with a selection of his greatest songs.’
Huh.
I guess you were thinking “take me home country road”
Then Leaving on a Jet Plane.
Most excellent read! Ta very much
Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to leave kind and encouraging comments. Much appreciated. Andrew Collins interview will be up in the New Year and more mini-reviews of each issue in the meantime.
