I went to school with Nick Kamen’s cousin. This was the late 1980s, so he was popular.
And somehow Niall failed to include this information in his write-up….the boy’s slipping!
(He was probably thrown off by the fact that the site is now an office building, instead of luxury apartments)
Another great one, Niall! How’s the book coming?
@Billybob-Dylan I had a sniff of interest from someone who could ‘make an introduction to a publisher,’ recently. It was part of an amazing conversation about something I’m not allowed to talk about. So, all fingers and toes are crossed.
Tremendous read (as ever) Niall. Love all of these. Billybob makes a good point you know…
And that Dido song is a cracker.
@Leedsboy Ta. It’s funny, Dido completely passed me by – I was aware of her but found the music a bit bland. It was the scene in Love Actually which floored me and I really enjoyed going back through her stuff for this playlist.
My school chum lived in a ground-floor flat on Upper Street for a few years in the early 1990s. I would often visit. It seems I was never more than a hundred yards from a recording studio.
Indeed. It’s an area I know well but had no idea of the history or the studio.
Great piece. I did a library album there in the early noughties. I didn’t realise it had closed so soon after that.
Thanks @mrxsg.
Really interesting, again. Thanks
@paulwright thank you.
