Just a quickie. A few weeks ago my wife and I went to Guildford Cathedral to see Let Me In Presents An Evening Of Radiohead. Not the real Radiohead of course. But a band of about 10 fans of the band including a string section who have been touring cathedrals with their show. It was celebrating the 10th anniversary of A Moon Shaped Pool. They did almost all the album plus a lot of OK Computer, and an eclectic selection from Kid A, In Rainbows, The Bends etc plus Spectre. It was absolutely fabulous, stunningly good and if you’re a fan of Radiohead then they are still touring the UK (St Albans and Beverley) and touring widely again in early 2027. Go see them, you won’t be disappointed.

It’s little-remembered that Quintessence toured English cathedrals in 1971, one such show being broadcast on BBC2 (Norwich Cathedral) – long gone, of course.
Count me as interested. Depending on health, I might get to one.
Fripp has toured cathedrals playing Soundscapes, and it seems to have encouraged a great depth of feeling in the music.
Then there’s Tangerine Dream…
As it happens I was going to post about a classical pianist Josh Cohen who did a full show of piano improvisation around Radiohead songs.
Thom Yorke has embraced it and now has Josh doing written music for their stuff. And their cover artist has been involved with the songbooks too.
I never got into Radiohead but I certainly like his piano work. Heaps up on YouTube including other band’s stuff like Sigur Ros.
Here’s Black Star.
I have been to a number of them at Lichfield Cathedral – Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Elvis but the best by far was Oysterband.
Same – great venue, been to see Bowie, Meat Loaf, U2 and George Michaels – would say Bowie was the best.

That’s really good. It took me a while to recognise it. The Josh Cohen that is. Pyramid Song was a bit more obvious although I’m not much of a fan of choirs in rock – the Mike Sammes singers ruined a Colin Blunstone album.
I generally agree with you about choirs in rock – but I think this version is an exception. Also, they’ve not been grafted on top of a rock band.
Voces8 are a bit exceptional, anyway…
I really dig Roomful of Teeth too.
So you wil like the Elevator Songs, with Gabriel Kahn, I have been written to about?
They can really add something memorable to the occasion. Like here, from 6:50ish:
1980s Radiohead anyone?
