I went to the Hilden Brewery Festival yesterday (Lisburn, NI) – my annual trip to the world of ‘new music’. I heard lots of interesting people, but bought onlky one disc – from this chap, Joshua Burnside, a singer/songwriter who was performing in an terrificly warm, fuzzy electric trio format.
This was his opening song, and it stood out, ‘Holllogram’ [sic], from his latest album. Video of live solo performance.

Enjoyed that. Good song.
Nice guitar tone.
Yes, great guitar sound – his album uses an acoustic sound from the few tracks I’ve heard so far – and a strange double tracked vocal approach. Here he is with an acoustic set-up and co-vocalist (as per the album), same song:
Here’s another act I saw on Saturday: Brash Isaac – a kind of old-school ‘alternative rock’ in the sense that it sounds a bit early U2/Coldplay (so not really alternative at all). They finished with this number. A shame there’s no live full band clips on YT – the bass player has an interesting look, sort of 80s gay disco crossed with the bloke from Husker Du.
