Yesterday in the city of Chester there was a small but perfectly formed meetup of The Cheshire Cat, Retropath2, Pencilsqueezer and myself (and my dear lady).
Much talking and drinking and eating was engaged in and a splendid time was had by all.
@Pencilsqueezer gifted each one of us a painting each from a series of three called Dust Mote.
Here is ours No 1.

I’m placing it here too in case the box doesn’t work.
The photo doesn’t do it justice, it is of course wonderful.
pencilsqueezer says
It was a most agreeable day spent in the most splendid company. I do hope everyone involved has fully recovered. It was lovely to meet up with y’all.
Junior Wells says
Good one. Glad that Pencil got out and about and lucky you with a new Squeezer. Screen images certainly do not do his work justice.
Beezer says
Good to hear. And a delight to see some more Squeezers adorning the site.
If anyone knows me on the dreaded FB my background image is ‘Edges Ebb and Flow’. An original piece on display here at Beezer Towers.
retropath2 says
Triffic day with the spritely lads (& lass), agreeable bollox duly discussed over beers and pub grub, a trip to an excellent record shop: Grey & Pink, and a mooch thru’ the city sufficient to walk off any notion of coffee being sufficient for the next round. I too have the wonderful gift of a squeezer. If I can wrestle Imgur into submission, I can show.
thecheshirecat says
Echoes from here too. I am touched by Squeezer’s generosity and so pleased to have some proper art to adorn my house. And, of course, seeing it on a screen certainly doesn’t do it justice.
Yes, it was a merry meeting and one that we have promised to repeat. It was particularly satisfying that refreshment was provided by local brewer, Weetwood.
“Four pints of Cheshire Cat, please, landlord.”
Twang says
Awesome! lucky you guys!
hubert rawlinson says
Any problems with imgur email me the pictures and I’ll put them on @retropath2 @thecheshirecat. (I’ve whatsapped you with details of how to use it Chesh)
hubert rawlinson says
Retro’s image. Dust Mote #3
Kaisfatdad says
That sounds like an extremely agreeable way of spending a day.
I think you should be careful about publishing details about this kind of thing, Hubert. If word gets out when the next meeting will be, you will have Afterworders flying in in their hordes from Sweden, Australia, Iceland, France, Italy, Scotland, Tibet, Singapore, New Zealand, Japan, Canada and heavens knows where else!
hubert rawlinson says
We would only accept as Miss Jean Brodie would say la crème de la crème.
However on writing this I realise the surname Brodie was also the surname of the Edinburgh Town Councillor and respected citizen William Brodie who was the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson to write The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde.
So we are happy to invite anyone on board.
Gatz says
Jean Brodie claims to be a descendant of Deacon Brodie.
retropath2 says
Aha, Brodie, the “Blue” Deacon, so named for the colour of his French sourced trousers, all the rage at the time.
SteveT says
We have afterworders in Tibet @kaisfatdad?
I thought it was dai from Canada not Dalai from Lhasa.
Mike_H says
He has a mystical stone..
Kaisfatdad says
I am sworn to secrecy @SteveT, but I can assure that the site has contributors from all manner of locations, some of whom rather well-known.
Dai may have time to contribute but Dalai may be rather busy in the weeks to come, now that he has become a Catholic…

Black Celebration says
Sounds like a great way to spend the day.
hubert rawlinson says
It’s like visiting the Afterword but without having to type.
el hombre malo says
Marvellous! Dudes one and all!
Baron Harkonnen says
That brings back memories of mingles in Liverpool in days gone by not forgetting a couple with yourself Peter in Chester along with a few other AWers.
pencilsqueezer says
Indeed Mr H. Hopefully we will get together again in the near future and I feel confident in offering an open invitation to all good hearted souls who as my old butty El Hombre would say enjoy a blether.
thecheshirecat says
Interesting choice of word. My mucker from work uses the word ‘blether’ to describe that which hangs around the mouth of his spaniel.
pencilsqueezer says
Pob lwc to your mucker if he ever finds himself in that Scotland and explains his definition of the word to a Scot.
Baron Harkonnen says
Aye, we should do that, calling @SteveT and of course anyone else who are interested in a good day out.
pencilsqueezer says
We will make it so.
SteveT says
Definitely up for a visit to the splendid town of Chester and our resident patron saint who lives nearby. Been too long.
pencilsqueezer says
👍👍👍
SteveT says
Let’s agree a date and meet up with @Baron-Harkonnen too and anyone else up for a splendid day out based on past experiences.
pencilsqueezer says
I can meet up on any date so I’m available whenever it’s convenient for everyone else who wishes to muster.
Baron Harkonnen says
Like I said…
Mike_H says
I rather fancy another trip to Chester. And seeing Mr. Squeezer once more.
pencilsqueezer says
Huzzah! It would be rather splendid to see you Mike.
tkdmart says
Count me in!
pencilsqueezer says
It would be splendid to see you again butt.
Sewer Robot says
pencilsqueezer says
Butt, butt, butt, butt, butt, butt, butt, butt, butt, butt…
