Afterword has become my resource of choice when it comes to consumer advice —- this time it’s the Amazon ‘top up’ offer. This seems to say that if you too up your account by £70 they give you £5 to your account – I interpret this as meaning I can add £70 to my gift card, then spend it on a new smartphone, and afterwards they’ll add £5 to my account. Am I right? Has anyone done this?

They had a £10 promotion back around Xmas I think – add £100 as credit and get £10 from them. I knew I’d spend the £100 pretty quick so it was worth the advance to get the £10. Worth doing if you already know what you would spend it on and you have the £70 to hand.
