I picked up a couple of bottles of my favourite beard oil. I’m now all smelly and downy in the chin department and at slightly less cost. Brighton Beard Company if anyone is interested. Their oil and balms are the best I’ve used. A bit on the expensive side but worth it.
Fragrance free oils are available but I don’t think the Brighton Beard company offer one. The best advice I can offer up after trying quite a few different makes is don’t cheap out. The more expensive products are noticeably better.
@mikethep No it doesn’t and neither does beard balm. They condition facial hair making it softer, less scratchy. I use Bulldog beard shampoo everyday and that along with the application of a beard comb exfoliates my beard before I massage and comb the beard oil through it. It really does make a difference. I’d have to check if the Brighton Beard Company offer a fragrance free oil.
The most important thing is keeping your beard really clean Mike. A beard comb is essential. If you wash it daily and comb it through that should clear up any dandruff problems. It’s the dry skin cells that lodge themselves in beards if they aren’t cared for that cause them to itch.

You’re the man to give me a proper answer, Squeezy.
I have a beard. A very short one. I set my beard trimmer to 2.5. As I say, short. My question being, would these beard balms be of any good?
I’m as grey as a badger now and all my remaining hair of any length feels dry. Crucially, I’m not bothered unduly – but would a bit of beard balm benefit barely or bountifully?
Oil would work better on a short beard. Balms are used more to shape a beard as well as sofen and moisturise the beard and underlying skin. As you have a short beard you’ve got bugger all to shape. Try a cheap but quite good option such as Bulldog, you can usually pick up a small bottle of it on Amazon for under four quid. If you find that helps you can always try something more expensive if you choose to do so at a later date.
I bought some Cambridge earbuds a couple of days ago. Same story. I ordered them from Amazon for the free delivery.
I live in a modest house, a 2 bed end of terrace, but the driveway is about 25m long, so there is an address plate in the fence at the end. This must be why the driver opted to Frisbee the package over the fence into the neighbour’s garden at that point rather than, as convention would demand, take it to the clearly visible front door.
Still, I got to meet a very pleasant neighbour I hadn’t spoken to before. The earbuds keep cutting out, so when I get back from the pub where I am now I’ll try disconnecting them reconnecting then to the phone before deciding if they’re faulty.
That looks bonkers, as they vary from £25 to £37 each!

haha, for a minute I read that as Cyril Stapleton
Tribute act performing Stapleton’s songs in the style of the late, great George Formby (standout track Stalybridge Whiskey)
Like the drink he celebrates, an acquired taste at best
The Oz Dodgers are knocking out Bose Quiet Comfort headphones at around 50% off, eg QC Ultra at $369 down from $649. Dunno if it’s the same elsewhere.

Does beard oil get rid of beardruff? And can you get it fragrance-free?
I’m mildly allergic to perfumes plus I really don’t like “fragrances” in soaps etc so anything heavily scented is a no from me.
And I always thought beard oil was an effect of eating pizza….
Not if one is properly couth and eats one’s pizza with a knife and fork.

Not to worry, thank you, I doubt I could get Brighton Beard products in Oz anyway. I shall investigate further.

Apropos of nothing: Chou Pahrot’s violin player was known as
Eggy Beard.

I shall add one to my bathroom armoury.
The AW forum appears to have been bought out by Esquire magazine. Next month: The 5 best manly toenail clippers you MUST own before you die!
If you keep supple (I recommend yoga) you can bite them well into your late 60’s.

Remarkable!
Thanks Pencil. Oil it is.
I bought a double pack of Calgon washing machine descaler tablets. I am very dull.
…depends if you’re going to smoke them or something.
Sucking on them might keep clean my teeth clean. Those pineapple cubes at the pub tasted horrible.
Hmm, I was thinking about new earbuds and I’ve had a couple of good sets from Anker. They’re the same price on the Anker site as Prime Day.

The Hey Clockface double LP is a frankly unbelievable £2.49 at Hive. I’ve ordered one for me and another for a chum at under £7 including postage
