Mood music App, Endel, has been signed to produce 20 albums this year and has already released 5.
“I’m certain listeners enjoying these new albums will benefit from reduced anxiety and improved mood,” said Kevin Gore, president of Warner Music.
An exciting new dawn for music, or the beginning of the end?

Nothing new.
I used to own an LP of computer generated music – Computer Experiments Volume 1, credited to Synergy, a pseudonym of keyboard player Larry Fast.
Here’s one track.

Brian Eno was experimenting a good few years ago with systems that produced what was known as Generative Music.

Definition: “music that is ever-different and changing, and that is created by a system”
The “Bloom” app by Brian Eno and Peter Chilvers is generative music with a visual element added. That’ll be £7.99 squire. Android or IOS.

Eno’s last album, Reflection, was an hour-long excerpt of music ‘played’ by the generative app.
There’s an infinite length version available by downloading the app.

He created a self-generating piece of music in a special room in Rufford Park in Nottinghamshire. It started in 2000 and is scheduled to finish in…. 3000.
The bit that I heard in 2002 went like this: “Plink…… plonk…. plunk….”
I suspect he won’t have got to the first chorus yet.

Stop Press! Endel will soon be embarking on its first UK tour and has signed up for gigs at several European festivals.
It is headlining at Roskilde 19 and I quake with anxiety at the scenes of backstage depravity we can expect this summer.
It is late on Saturday night so I am going to post a rather adult clip from Trio Endel.
Certainly one of the oddest things I have seen on YT this week!
