AI music just won’t keep away. Riffusion promises endless new songs based on your inputs. Here’s one I made earlier.
The creativity seems to come in the choice of words. What could or would you create?

It’s quite good at genres, too – here’s one responding to ‘Krautrock’ as a prompt

It’s very versatile:

Nice to know Agnetha Fältskog was keeping herself busy.
‘Swedish pop with disco flair’ is allowed as a prompt. ABBA or most other actual names are not.
I read the OP and was convinced i wasn’t going to enjoy what I heard.
I got that wrong.
i just listened to Algorithm Blues and i must confessed i am somewhat gobsmacked @salwarpe.
it’s a very decent, rather witty pop song. I’ve paid good money for worse.
Now you’ve really confused me.
I’ve since carried on playing with the tool, and have come up with Jane Austen baroque:

As far as I can tell, the only limit is your imagination in terms of what can emerge.
To His Coy Mistress – playful

As this post slowly slips away unnoticed, and probably unwanted, just a quick update on what I’ve found. Apart from prompting musical genres and creating lyrics if requested, it’s also possible to import other words or texts, ‘remix’ or extend songs, extract and reuse words or music for other songs. The creativity comes in trying things out, and changing and adjusting, adding and removing. Composition for those without composition skills.
Here’s one I asked it to make with lyrics suggested by ChatGPT – The Afterword Rolls On

Is it another nail in the coffin of real music, or a step towards empowerment, or something else altogether?
This is hilarious! I’ve been thinking about this stuff a lot and I agree that the fun comes from combining and mutating things.
It’s actually catchy…
Thanks, @Leffe-Gin. I had thought this might be catnip to AWers, but apart from you, @kaisfatdad and @hubert-rawlinson, it’s dropped like a stone beten more catchy threads.
I keep thinking up new genes to smash together and styles to try. I took Brazilian Baile funk and added Egyptian Mahraganat. Then remixed it with baroque oboe, then swanee whistle – strange, but entertaining Arabic Latin fusion resulted.
I’ve ‘made’ quite a few I may put some more on here, alas it doesn’t seem to recognise a crumhorn.
Years ago I came up with the idea of Disco Chaucer so some 40 years later here it is.

Oh la la!
Is that the one where the bare bottom gets stuck out of the window?
this is spectacular!

I’m wondering who’s been ripped off here.

It soon occurred to me that the default setting for everything (unless explicitly counteracted in the prompt), is US country music.
I think that’s true in many ways, not just here.
This was my attempt. It’s been mutated several times and seems to have drifted away from, errr, whatever it was that was on my mind. I wrote some of it, ChatGPT helped, and here we have… something https://www.riffusion.com/song/fbd7336f-d399-413c-979a-aa7e822c869d
Reading the code, it seems you’ve posted the same song three times, @leffe-gin…
Oh blimey! My poor brain can’t handle this new fangled doodah
Then there’s THIS monstrosity: https://www.riffusion.com/song/fbd7336f-d399-413c-979a-aa7e822c869d

Have some chanson.
And some more.

Nice. I’ve added my own twist to a remix

Also, I’ve published all my tracks that I thought of interest (leaving others as ‘works in progress’)
I’ve not published anything yet but especially for @kaisfatdad here’s some ‘Swedish’ folk music.
https://www.riffusion.com/song/9e376a17-abd5-488e-867b-5232ad8f6d1d
It’s a jolly little number but doesn’t sound remotely Swedish.
Maybe, if you translated it, it could pass as a dansband track.
Thanks for having a try @hubert-rawlinson.
An interesting challenge.
Hence my use of ‘Swedish’
Nothing is too much for Riffusion, it would seem:

Possibly because I’ve done European stuff they do seem to have a sound that wouldn’t be out of place in Eurovision. Maybe that explains things.
Have some Eurovision.

that’s hideous, and brilliant also.
