It’s certainly good for those seeking less squeak than Prass, N. And it’s on e music, which has a chocka good stuff at present, from new Waterboys to the Unthanks. Well chuffed.
Unthanks for me too. Much as I am enjoying The Decemberists’ album rightly celebrated below this is the one I can see myself playing for many years to come.
If you like stuff like Trembling Bells, then I can certainly recommend the Crying Lion album, “The Golden Boat”. Scottish folky madrigals, mainly unaccompanied singing. On Honest Jon’s Records. Released last month. Good stuff.
Is it better than or different to The Silicone Veil Daff?
Well, IMHO, Ten Love Songs is much more ‘accessible’ – I don’t find the Silicone Veil an easy listen.

Ms S was live on the Skavlan chat show here last Friday. Very good too.

Waiting for my copy of Everything Ever Written to arrive. I have high, high hopes for this.
Crying Lion sounds very promising. Thanks DuCool.
So far my album of the year is The Decemberists new one. Quite brilliant.
Seconded
Yep, the bar’s pretty high
Thirded, and gig of the year too.
This album is bloody brilliant.
I thought I would give it a quick listen yesterday due to the above praise & ended up listening to it a further 3 times last night.
Cheers for the heads up on this!
