Today on Twitter someone shared one of their vinyl bargains with me (Hounds Of Love, ÂŁ2, fab). It came with a leaflet advertising merchandise available by mail order, including a Hounds Of Love t-shirt, sweatshirt and ‘art prints’ which were really just photos of Kate in a variety of super poses. This reminded me of a spiffing insert in a Bee Gees LP I bought earlier this year, plus a merch leaflet in my old copy of S’Express’ debut album from 1989.
As you might be able to see, the 14 year old me hopefully filled in the order form for an S’Express hoodie, but never got the funds together to actually get it. God knows why I selected x-large; I was 7 stone at that age (*sighs*) and although baggy was in, it would have been tent-like. Anyway, what merchandise leaflets, or indeed other interesting inserts reside in your record collections? And did you ever actually buy anything?

Adam and The Ants – Kings Of The Wild Frontier contained a 12 page Catalogue telling the history of the band, Records available and Live Shows played.
Budget re-issue labels Fame (EMI, I think?) and CBS Nice Price invariably contained the whole (or abridged catalogue, so you could select your next knock down price purchase).
Not so many inserts in CDs – often the “please send this card in to receive more information” (ie junk mail)).
One Stiff Little Fingers live album did contain a flyer for a special purchase of a limited edition album. I bought (of course, I bought it), and then this strictly Limited Edition got a commercial release 6 months later (at a cheaper price too).
The back pages of Smash Hits were always good for Mail Order stuff – Jam Shoes bring my only purchase.
Ha! Great minds, RD.
I got this ‘catalogue’ in my copy of Kings Of The Wild Frontier, bought on the cusp of Ant-mania. Adam and the boys signed it for me durIng a pre-gig HMV appearance in December 1980.

I must be getting tired…….in the OP, I read ‘art pants’……which I suppose is a very Kate Bush idea…..
