Not the end of the world I know, but a couple of “annoyances” on the website access have started to crop up over the past week or so….
– I keep getting logged out – even if I click the “remember me” box before I enter login details. This seems to happen every two or three days,
– previously on posts with unread comments, the post would be highlighted in blue and when read it would turn to a white background. These days, they are remaining blue after I read the comments and stay that way even if I refresh the page, if I close the website and go back, all is good – I,e, there seems to be a delay in the update.
Both of these are happing on both my iPad and MacBook. Anyone else seeing this ?
Have had to log back in every day this week – no biggie but ..
I’ve had the same thing with the different colour for unread comments not changing when I check the thread again, even though I’ve read them. Bizarrely, this only seems to happen on certain threads, but no logic to it. Given the world’s problems, it’s not really a big issue, but it does mean that having to rely on my memory to tell me where I’m up to in a thread, I’ve no chance of getting it right!

Yes to the ‘recently updated and read’ staying blue. I have to close Firefox and reopen it to clear them.
I initially thought it was the latest Firefox update, but it also happens on Safari on my iPhone 11.

Same here with DDG, just occasionally (very occasionally) logged out.
Usually when the VPN’s on.
I thought it was just my phone playing up, but, yes, both of these.
I use Safari or Firefox on a recent iphone. The ignoring my remember me log on has been going on for ages I’d say years.
Also on an iPhone and this has also started happening to me over the last week or so. There was an iPhone update around the same time so maybe that is the culprit?
And don’t get me started on “a recurring problem occurred..” or whatever it is.
There’s many threads I just can’t access because there are too many YouTube videos or similar. Some people here must think I’m frightfully rude because sometimes I’m unable to reply to their comments….

On Safari on iPhone I don’t see any new comments highlighted on main Forum page. That works on PC or Mac
I’ve only found I needed to log back in once so far, a few days ago.
The other thing about threads with new posts staying blue after I read and close them has been happening for ages now. Usually doesn’t update until I reload the site but occasionally it will update itself straight away. Mildly annoying but not a particularly big deal for me.
I’m using Chrome on a Win 11 PC.
I’m having another different issue with Chrome on YouTube with clips freezing and requiring a reload of the site. When watching a few clips in succession it will often freeze on the third, fourth or fifth clip.
I’m glad it’s not just me. Thought my Samsung phone was being awkward. Still, as others have said, there are bigger issues in the world… It would be nice if Trump had trouble logging into social media, just to spare us his “thoughts”.
Yes, last few days or so, the message notification counter (next to the “Hi, Locust” in the upper right corner) takes forever to change back to zero after I go to the message and then click “read” – I have to leave the site and return. But the counter staying the same number really makes no difference at all, except gives mild annoyance!
I do have to log on every day, not so often when I return to the site after a visit to another in between, but again; not a problem as my computer remembers my passwords. But that has been a thing for a while now, maybe even a year or more.
The posts staying blue is, as others have said, not all threads and not every day. It doesn’t really bother me that much, TBH.
On a computer (Windows 10, AVG Secure Browser) I at least don’t have any problems with video-heavy threads, so that’s good!

We THINK we may have identified the problem (it was a change at the hosting side recently which meant we had to change a couple of plug-ins) and hopefully all is back to normal.
Please update here one way or the other so we can keep an eye on it. Thanks to @Rich for his speedy tech support on this
