Forty-seven Afterworders voted for a total of 188 releases, an increase on 2024 when thirty-seven Afterworders voted for 149 releases.
Twelve attracted just one point, the lowest possible score:

In the event of a tie, the number of nominations are taken into account. For example, if two releases score the same points, the one with most Afterworders voting for it is placed higher.
35= John Lennon & Yoko Ono – Power To The People & Small Faces – Autumn Stone
34 Richard Hawley – Cole’s Corner 20th
30= Paul Brady – Archive, Genesis – The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, Gentle Giant – Playing The Fool, The Who – Live At The Oval 1971

8 Patti Smith – Horses 50th
7 Jethro Tull – Still Living In The Past
6 The Beatles – Anthology 4
5 Bob Dylan – Through The Open Window
4 Bruce Springsteen – Nebraska
3 Little Feat – The Last Record Album
The top two were very close, 87 points and 90, respectively.
2. Nick Drake – The Making Of Five Leaves Left
1. Bruce Springsteen – Tracks II: The Lost Albums/Lost And Found
Bruce pulled it off by playing the Taylor Swift trick of multiple formats. I decided to combine votes for the big box with votes for the highlights.
Two, one of which was the full ten points. If separated, Tracks II would have been number two (still higher than Little Feat) and Lost And Found would have been in the twenties.
Previous winners:
2020 Prince – Sign O The Times SDE
2021 Can – Live in Stuttgart &
Jackie Leven – Straight Outta Caledonia
2022 The Beatles – Revolver SDE
2023 Bob Dylan – Fragments: Time Out Of Mind Sessions 1996-7
2024 Joni Mitchell – Archives Volume 4: The Asylum Years 1976-1980
2025 Bruce Springsteen – Tracks II: The Lost Albums/Lost And Found
Thank you for all your votes. The Afterword is thriving.
Apologies to Dream Syndicate – Medicine Show: I Know What I Like. It had two votes, which I inexplicably counted separately. Rightfully, it should sit at number 30 with everything below it dropping one place.
Happy new year, Tiggs – and thanks for doing this.
While I’m here 🙂: I can’t see Durutti Column, Bill Nelson’s Quit Dreaming or Sandy Denny’s Old fashioned Waltz (a potential single vote one-pointer).
Accidentally omitted – or in some kind of unreported low scoring void space?
Many thanks!
Durutti Column attracted more than one vote, but not enough to score more than ten points in total. Bill and Sandy only got one vote but more than one point. If you recall, you voted for a 2024 release that was disqualified. Mackerras was slotted into tenth, which also received points from another Afterworder.
A well run poll and rapid roundup of the votes T.L.
A poor response to the results (9) although that could be down to the predictability of the Top 10
I think the price of the Lennon ‘Power To The People’ set was responsible for its low placing and maybe the content It was the first Lennon S.E. I didn’t bother with. I’d have thought the Hothouse Flowers and Thea Gilmore sets would have made the Top 20. I’m hoping Dick Gaughan’s* forthcoming set figures in the Top 10 for ‘26
*l’m hoping it qualifies because it’s been available at a Record store in Glasgow just before Yuletide
All of my choices were made after listening to the either on my T.T. or in my CD player
Yeah, the content of the Lennon box was why I didn’t buy it, if the content appeals and I can afford it I’ll go for it that’s why I bought Tracks II on vinyl
Mr Tiggs it appears you are a Springsteen fan therefore you must get to listen to Tracks II it’s superb and it is # 1!
The Gaughan set is officially released (to general public) in February 2026, Pyro. The vast majority of Kickstarter subscribers will be sent copies around the end of next week – from both me (EU customers) and Last Night From Glasgow (rest of world). The casual arrangement of people near Glasgow collecting ordered KS copies before Christmas was just a bit of common sense – it would have been ridiculous and mean-spirited to not do this when the stock was physically in Glasgow in mid-December. So yes, it’s released in 2026 for the purposes of this year’s AW poll. 😀
Tracks II is very good but I really dislike the packaging. It’s a fucking chore just to get a cd out to play – which Mastermind designed this pile of shit?
Really impressed by the speed in which this was curated. Great job Tiggs.
The only one in the Top 10 that could tempt me is the Wilco one (of course), but when it comes to albums I already own in their original format (unless the original format I own them on is vinyl), I never buy them in the year of release – feels too pricey for something I already have. I can wait one or two years to get the extra material for cheap – I rarely end up playing the other takes/tracks a whole lot anyway. So this year I bought the expanded edition of Wilco’s The Whole Love, so the extended A Ghost Is Born may get purchased in -26 or -27…
It completely bypassed me that Steven Wilson remixed “Made in Japan” last year. I learned this from a poscast today. By ‘ek it sounds bloody fantastic and at 35 quid on the Dodgers for the double vinyl album I’m in.
The results are in.

The thread for the votes are here:
And Slotbadger placed his vote here:
Khurangbin were disqualified as the album consists of new recordings of old songs. John Fogerty was disqualified for the same reason.
35= John Lennon & Yoko Ono – Power To The People & Small Faces – Autumn Stone
34 Richard Hawley – Cole’s Corner 20th

All The Young Droids … not a Cherry Red release which is why my wallet is not emptying, but must investigate …
19 Frank Zappa – One Size Fits All
18 The Rolling Stones – Black & Blue SDE
17 Husker Du – 1985: The Miracle Year
16 Peter Hammill – Complete Charisma Recordings

11 David Bowie – I Can’t Give Everything Away
Top Ten will be posted tomorrow
Quick work! Impressive
10 Talking Heads – More Songs About Buildings And Food

How many votes for Lost and Found only? Looked to me most were voting for the whole shebang
Two, one of which was the full ten points. If separated, Tracks II would have been number two (still higher than Little Feat) and Lost And Found would have been in the twenties.
Ok thanks.
Nearly voted for both separately. I bought Lost and Found on vinyl and Tracks II as a full download, but probably right to merge them.

Thank you for the prompt turnaround and blunt but fair judgements. HNY2U
Happy new year, Tiggs – and thanks for doing this.

Accidentally omitted – or in some kind of unreported low scoring void space?

I bought the Durutti Column on half-speed mastered LP – natch – but didn’t vote for it because I haven’t played it yet.
Durutti Column attracted more than one vote, but not enough to score more than ten points in total. Bill and Sandy only got one vote but more than one point. If you recall, you voted for a 2024 release that was disqualified. Mackerras was slotted into tenth, which also received points from another Afterworder.

😀
Ai! Caramba!
Thanks, Tiggs – I suspected there would be a logical explanation…
Strangely, for the past few weeks, I’ve been listening to the disqualified set (Dohnányi/Cleveland box) more than any on the list.
It contains wonders.
Indeed. Reissue of the century?
A well run poll and rapid roundup of the votes T.L.
A poor response to the results (9) although that could be down to the predictability of the Top 10

Hothouse Flowers are number 28.
I haven’t been drawn to the Lennon Ono box either, because of cost, controversy and content.
Content for Lennon surely, Tracks II was way more expensive. I think quite a number who voted here heard stuff through streaming
I haven’t been drawn to Tracks II and Tracks I is my second favourite Bruce album.
At least give Streets of Philadelphia Sessions a listen and also Twilight Hours
All of my choices were made after listening to the either on my T.T. or in my CD player
Yeah, the content of the Lennon box was why I didn’t buy it, if the content appeals and I can afford it I’ll go for it that’s why I bought Tracks II on vinyl
Mr Tiggs it appears you are a Springsteen fan therefore you must get to listen to Tracks II it’s superb and it is # 1!
I wouldn’t go that far. I only like two of his albums. However, you are quite right. I should give #1 a listen.

Many thanks Tiggs. Some good stuff there; must check out the Patti Smith. None more Afterword than the top ten!
I think Husker Du, at number 17, is the least Afterword release in the top twenty. 😄
Oddly enough, that’s the only one in the top 20 which I might actively hunt down and purchase (the handful which I already own notwithstanding…)
Tracks II is very good but I really dislike the packaging. It’s a fucking chore just to get a cd out to play – which Mastermind designed this pile of shit?

Love your assessment of the packaging.

Job well done, @Tiggerlion!
Great work @tiggerlion and thank you for including my list. Happy new year!
It completely bypassed me that Steven Wilson remixed “Made in Japan” last year. I learned this from a poscast today. By ‘ek it sounds bloody fantastic and at 35 quid on the Dodgers for the double vinyl album I’m in.
May just have forgotten about it (or waited for a decent price point), cos you commented here Mr Twang:
Blimey I even commented. In mitigation I was on holiday so not properly focused. Doh.
