So after publishing the book of my blog on Amazon, I sat back and waited for the sales to flood in, and nothing happened. Initially I had thought I would happy with just publishing a book. But now I am thinking it would be nice to have a few sales, and a few people reading, as I did make an effort to write it.
So I am looking at the various advertising options – Amazon marketing, google or Youtube, etc.
Anyone had any experiences of Internet advertising they would like to share ? My initial research suggests the feedback is mixed.
Thanks

Hello, I can’t go into detail now for time reasons, but I tried Amazon and Facebook advertising, an Amazon limited-time price drop, and a Goodreads giveaway. In terms of generating interest and sales the last two worked the best by far. I also contacted book bloggers and got a few reviews that way.
Thanks. I thought the price drop might be a good idea, but I hadn’t thought about goodreads.
Yes, I’d definitely recommend a limited time price drop. So many books I see advertised on my feed are going for 99p, even by well-known authors, and at that price many more people will have a punt out of curiosity at least. You would then encourage the reader to post a review, and hopefully this is how interest would be generated.
How to get an AMAZON BEST-SELLER
People I know who have written books then email their mates and ask them to do a quick review for them. Not supposed to do that of course but they do.
You ought to put something on the Noticeboard here too!
I’ve been doing that on this blog for years for my mate Bob Dylan
