Tried guinea pig in Cusco. Not keen.
Didn’t help that it was served with its fur still on and standing on all fours. It had a carrot with a cocktail stick skewered to its head acting as a hat.
One of the group I was with was an Aussie airforce pilot. He had spent his training period surviving on stuff he could catch in the outback. This was a piece of cake for him.

Our local game dealer’s been selling it for years. It’s similar to rabbit – very lean but delicious if cooked sensibly.
