Even if you dislike FZ, just have a look at this to check out Moon, Zappa’s daughter, and her – what seems to me – amazingly together and confident persona. I think it’s a credit to absent father Frank and most probably ever-present mother Gail that she is so poised and assured, and funny, in a very honest way.
I’d like to think my daughters could have been this composed in that situation, but I’ll never know.

That’s most excellent. And apropos of nothing, ‘Valley Girl’ is the only FZ song I’ve ever liked or owned.
Recently finished a Zappa biog by Miles. The background to that single is rather sad. Moon was delighted that her father wanted to work with her as he’d been so distant throughout her life. She saw it as a means of getting closer to him, but it failed in that respect. A very smart kid.
Only just seen this, thanks Mousey. Loved it.
