Well, this looks interesting… from the Cambridge Corn Exchange FB.
“A Tribute to Syd Barrett – Official 80th Anniversary Celebrations – 10 October 2026
Syd Barrett is being celebrated for what would have been his 80th birthday at Cambridge Corn Exchange, the site of his final performance in 1972.
On 10 October, a special concert features Kula Shaker, Soft Machine, Men on the Border, Diana Silveira & The Psychedelic Circus, Radhika and Pünk Floyd, with additional surprise guests still to be announced.
A commemorative double album is released on 9 October 2026, alongside a 3–9 October exhibition exploring Barrett’s life, art and legacy.

Tickets go on sale on 19 June 2026, 10AM.”

I hope the surviving members of P.F. are able to abandon their childish ways and make a positive contribution.
Mentioned elsewhere we went to see Australian Pink Floyd in Aix a few months back. A most excellent concert (I’m no Floyd fan) the highlight of which was Shine On You Crazy Diamond complete with slide show containing many pics of Syd. Brought a tear to my eye it did.
I went to this. Very interesting too.

Couldn’t remember when shocked to find it was eighteen years ago.
A fair few years ago I went to an exhibition of Syd’s art in Cambridge. The work was fascinating, he definitely had a talent; but that wasn’t what I treasured most from the experience… Walking just ahead of me were two very well spoken ladies whose conversation went like this:
“It’s all very good, but I’m afraid I still can’t remember him.”
“Well of course he wasn’t calling himself Syd when we knew him: he was Roger.”
“Roger?!? Oh my god — I remember him! He was gorgeous!!”
That’s the one I was at 18 years ago.
From his official website, I like this picture

Pre-ordered, thanks
Pet gripe, no Love Song, my favourite Barrett song, from the eponymous second solo.
