Great read Niall. The first international concert I saw in order of appearance were a Triple Bill of Free, Mm Ch 3 and Deep Purple. I think pom/ Aussie Mick Rogers had been recently recruited. They stole the show to those 15 year old ears and Manfred’s synth/keys were great.
I saw Mick at the time of the Solar Fire album. He’s still my favourite MMEB singer.
Also, Paul Young’s version of Love Will Tear Us Apart was recorded within them walls.
Cor! Who’d have thunk three such different-sounding of my fave records as New Boots, Entertainment! and No Parlez were made in the same space. Well, two and No Parlez.
Marvellous as ever.
There’s some reason why I came to this thread. I’ll remember what it is in a minute….
Wherever you lay your head, Moosey, you’re always home here.
I might just come back and stay for good this time.
