The answer to #5 is J.D. Nicholas, still with The Commodores and also now an actor, who was indeed born in Watford.
J.D. was, previous to joining Heatwave, singer with a local-ish funk band called Hit And Run along with Paul Fox and Dave Ruffy, later of The Ruts.
