After their stellar English Weather compilation from last year, the lads have done it again with State Of The Union: The American Dream In Crisis 1967-73.
Having listened to some of the tracks available on Spotify (10 of them aren’t) it’s going on the Christmas list.

I have enjoyed all their comps, so will have a look – the only problem is that they always start at like £13, so one has to wait
But this one I could be impatient for as it includes a track from Watertown…
The CD is £11.50 and will take up much less room.
The Roy Orbison, Frank Sinatra and Val Doonican tracks on this are tremendous. I love the care Bob and Pete put into their comps: always an attempt to evoke an imagined landscape, notion or period in time. Why have they never done a couple of hours on 6Music? The Guy Garvey slot or something more ambitious mixing words and music.
That is a damn fine idea
