This may work. Or may not.
I’ve taken a well-known song, arranged every word in alphabetical order, then removed all of the words which appear more than once, as well as all the proper nouns. I’ll start by giving you the A words and see if you can identify the song from them. If not, I’ll give you the B words, etc. I reckon you’ll get it from just the A’s.
No googling, please.
I said no googling.
I’m expecting Mr Concheroo to be first with the answer. No pressure.
PS Did I say no googling?
Oh yeah, the A words…
after, alibis, alright, amused, any, around, as

I know the answer! Are we supposed to just shout it out, or let other people get their kicks?
Just shout it out!
Like a rolling stone, innit? It was the alibis gave it away.
Good idea – got any more?
I knew the fricking alibis would give it away! Should’ve started with Z. I’m impressed you guys were so quick, anyway. I’ll come up with another in a bit.
OK, the A’s are too difficult with this one, so I’ll try the S’s:
seem, shame, singing, some, something, sorrow, steal, such
Purple Rain?
Another A one:
against, all, am, ambition
based purely on the word “Ambition”, and because it was the first one I could think of with that in the title:
Paranoid Android ?
This game is too easy for you lot.
I’m off to bed now and in the morning I’m going to write a poem using all the words from “Like A Rolling Stone” but in a different order.
Alfalfa, adorn, around, air, avocado,
That’s Rob C’s lunch recipe, no?
Well spotted! Also lyrical wordage. Don’t be shy! Step right up!
Mmm… counterculture… Zappa?
Close.
It’s Frank’s mate Captain Beefheart and the song is Pachuco Cadaver from everyone’s favourite five star el pee Trout Mask Replica
Ah, thanks. I’ve been expecting you.
Any road up, as good as my word [or in the spirit of it, at least], here’s a previously unknown Dylan song that I wrote using only words from “Like A Rolling Stone” [although not using ALL of the words from it, as I so rashly promised]…
ROLLING, LIKE A STONE
Napoleon frowns, he ain’t amused
he’s got nothing to conceal
got tricks he never never used
got mystery that ain’t real
He can’t steal kicks and alibis
and nobody’s hanging around
Without the clowns and jugglers
the people seem hard and bound
You’re rolling, like a stone
But now you feel complete
Rolling, like a stone
But now you feel complete
Lonely on an invisible horse,
discovered but so unknown
He turned his shoulder on secrets
and made everything his own
The diamond diplomat better beware
you don’t know when he could fall
you don’t see what direction, babe
you laugh and miss it all
You’re rolling, like a stone
But now you feel complete
Rolling, like a stone
But now you feel complete
———-
It’s a bit short, I know.
[What’s it about? It’s about two minutes, I reckon LOL ect ect]
THAT’S FANTASTIC. Oops – sorry – capslock hangover from Jase thread. Can I add a wheezy harp solo?
Cheers. Thought you’d never ask. It would certainly help pad out the length [fnarr].
