Yep, that’s definitely one of the best. Anne Dudley should be on the stamps for that^ song alone.
I’ve always found it funny/sad that male musicians are lauded for being vaguely able to bang out a tune on some instrument, whereas female musicians like Anne Dudley, demonstrably at the top their game (in my opinion) are just a sidenote.
My brother worked with her in the 90’s and said she was the most talented musician he had ever come across. She also worked really quickly – a trait she inherited from Trevor Horn – which Martin, my brother, loved too.
Anne did the strings on this, which Martin wrote and plays piano on.
They hooked up again when he wrote all of the material for B*Witched. Apart from the pipes, and Anne’s strings, Martin is playing the rest of the instruments on this.
I think we probably know some of the same people 😎
My friend Jamie used to be her tennis doubles partner. Nice lady and, as everyone has said, fiercely talented.
That’s the look the look of forty-love.
In the absence of Mr Bigpicture, I will remind that she is the sister of Bobby Valentino, the Clark Gabley fiddle man.
The cheque’s in the post Retro.
It always amazes me that such astonishing music can emerge from such unassuming-looking buildings.
Exactly, I guess it’s a case of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover.’
Well played sir!
Another great piece Niall.
Thanks
It’s a great song. Amazing that it was the 4th single off the album.
Absolutely!
